CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE ON THE NEWS | CHRISTELIKE PERSPEKTIEF OP DIE NUUS

Waarom swyg sosiale media wanneer kinders ly?

Praktiese oplossing: Raak betrokke by één kind in jou omgewing.

In this powerful podcast episode, journalist and analytical strategist Mike Burnard sheds light on the often-overlooked struggles of the persecuted church worldwide. With 45 years of experience serving persecuted Christians, Mike discusses how believers often focus more on the persecutors than the persecuted—whether in North Korea, Afghanistan, or even the West Bank, where the last remaining Christian town, Taybeh, recently faced violent attacks.

Mike challenges listeners to move beyond apathy and spiritual leprosy, urging Christians to pray effectively (not just for persecution to end, but for strength and boldness) and take actionable steps to support suffering believers

Youth on Fire, Bibles in Chains: Returning from a transformative 7,000-strong youth conference in KwaZulu-Natal—where young believers face unprecedented spiritual battles—Dr. Peter Hammond reveals a parallel crisis: Africa’s desperate Bible shortage. With 680 million African Christians but only 150 million Bibles, and pastors ministering without Scripture, Frontline Fellowship’s Literature for Africa ministry has delivered 200+ containers of free Bibles over 24 years.

Now, SARS penalties threaten to cripple this lifeline, slamming the ministry with R200,000+ unjust charges for donated gospel materials. As containers sit hostage in Cape Town’s harbor, Hammond sounds the alarm:

Why youth ministry is critical (85% of conversions happen before age 18)

The power of the printed Word (Bibles as "guided missiles" where preachers can’t go)

Spiritual warfare at customs (unprecedented targeting of free literature)

A call to action: Pray for divine intervention, advocate with government contacts, and support getting Bibles to 500 million African believers without Scripture. "A drop of ink can make a million think!"
