God holds leaders to a particularly high standard because they can lead others astray. When people in high positions use their influence to help themselves at the expense of others, God will not even hear their prayers.
None of us like bad news, but the Word of the Lord is not always comforting. Sometimes we need to be rebuked, but we must be humble to accept correction and to see the King. There is always hope for those who listen.
We can listen to God's Word, or we can reject God's Word. The prophet Micah preached from 750BC to 686BC and he was ignored for a long time, but eventually was listened to by Hezekiah, and God blessed His people because of it.
In Matthew 9:35-38 we see that the lost people are the harvest and those sharing the gospel are the laborers. God chooses to use us as the conduit of His good news. Today we discuss the practical matters of getting prepared and what to do and not do.
What motivates Jesus to have compassion? In this message, we see that Christ's desire for righteousness and his love for people leads Him to reach out to the lost. In helping sinners, He does not just meet their immediate needs; He tackles the symptom.
Being needed makes us feel important, but God does not need us at all. He can speak to people directly, has angles to offer Him praise, and even used Balaam's donkey to bring about His will. Yet, God wants us, which is even better than being needed.

We are reminded that the Christian life is a fight, but that it is a GOOD fight and that our race is distinct in its challenges from those of others. We endure by keeping the true faith and by longing for His return.
It is interesting that the last written record we have from Paul is about people. Although we do not know much about the names listed, they were important to Paul. Likewise, we are important to God who knows us even if we are not known by the world.
We have all heard that God is with us, but yet we are all prone to fear. God's presence in our lives should conquer that fear. Today's message explores some of the many times when God was with His people.
