Today Mary Danielsen chats with JB Hixson on the influence – and confluence – of seven of the most influential men in history. Although they mostly represent ideologies of a more recent history, the dots worth connecting today are among those men who have had a hand in shaping the latter days. Their ideologies have not as much to do with conquering humans regarding real estate, but the territory of the mind – and idolatry. We will look at Darwin, Marx, George Welhausen, John Dewey, Freud, John Maynard Keynes and Soren Kierkegaard in our exposition of seven men who rule the world from the grave, a nod to a classic Christian book of the same name by radio personality, pastor, and evangelist David Breese, who went to be with the Lord in 2002. His book is timeless and serves to educate a new generation about the ideologies that have significantly planted themselves in millions of minds and hearts in both the 20th and 21st centuries. They may be in the grave but the gravity of their influence is astounding.

Mary chats with apologist and author Chris Lawson of the Spiritual Research Network to discuss occult practices and beliefs that cross into a last days form of revivalism. When we think of “revival”, the average Christian is imagining tent meetings, gospel messages, repentance, altar calls, and changed lives. A good and positive thing. That is no longer the only view of revivals, and due to the influence of the NAR and Bethel’s School of the Supernatural, more and more calls for revival include a completely different definition, including many occult practices and manifestations. Testing the spirits in this area is more and more critical because experiential Christianity has overtaken many churches, the result of not enduring sound doctrine. In the 2nd half of the program, we delve into the rise of necromancy, or talking to the dead, in the churches, another offshoot of an occultic type of Christianity. It’s difficult to understand the juxtaposition of “occult” and “Christianity” and saying it outloud, but it is a subject that needs to be explored.

Usama is the author of “The Generous Qu’ran”, the only truly accurate English translation of the Koran available. Other translations sanitize and sugarcoat the harsher tenets of this political movement disguised as a religion. With Americans having fought wars in Islamic states for decades now, it is valuable to understand what they believe.

We welcome back Russ Miller today and discuss the delusional aspect of our times on the subject of false Christs, one of the more sobering warnings in the New Testament. The bible tells us clearly who the Messiah is in detail. Jesus Himself walked the earth to witness to His people Israel and prophesy about His upcoming death and resurrection.  When you add in the witness of the Apostles and particularly Peter and Paul throughout their epistle, there is ample opportunity to “flesh out” in our minds and hearts Who this Jesus is Who became sin for us. And yet, with the plethora of written testimony, people still get the wrong Jesus – a “false Christ” – and his followers are false Christians led on by false prophets. Why would anyone choose to believe in a false Christ? According to 2 Corinthians 11:3, our minds can readily be corrupted by our enemy, due to the fall  – and we can start to be corrupted ourselves and believe lies. Not only must we test every spirit, but test ourselves, to see if we are in the faith. (1 Corinthians 13:5).

Mary chats with Pastor and author Mike Abendroth who has written a 31 day devotional on how to allow God to shepherd us when we find ourselves suffering from chronic illness. The title alone is very freeing, and when we search the Scriptures, how much more is this true and verified over and over as we seek to get to know our Good Shepherd better. Everyone is shepherded, led – and follows –  something in this life, we are all serving something, someone. But for the believer, the true Shepherd cannot be supplanted by something as temporal as illness; beyond that, He cherishes and cares deeply for each of us each day, in sickness and in health. As he says in this devotional, “Cancer is not your shepherd. Cancer is not in charge. Cancer is not all powerful. Cancer does not have the last word. Cancer is not a surprise to the Lord. Cancer – is NOT your shepherd”. A much needed devotional in these trying, perilous times in which it seems more and more people are struggling with serious health issues.
