  • The Final Goal, Pt. 2
The sermon explores the Christian response to suffering by focusing on humility, vigilance, and eternal perspective as outlined in 1 Peter. It emphasizes that believers must cast their anxieties upon God and resist the devil through steadfast faith rather than pride or self-reliance. The preacher highlights the reality of spiritual warfare while encouraging the congregation to find comfort in shared afflictions and the promise of future glory. By looking beyond temporal troubles to the eternal weight of glory, Christians are called to endure trials with the assurance of God's perfecting grace. Ultimately, the message directs attention to the final goal of being conformed to the image of Christ through patient endurance.

  • 26-08-23 Navigating AI's Role in Faith
Navigating AI's Role in Faith Faith Debate: Sunday, August 23rd, 2026 (08/30/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) The Faith Debate digs into AI from a Christian vantage point. What is this technology at its root? Are fears about it due to faithful discernment, or cultural panic? If Christians disengage from "Artificial Intelligence", who fills the vacuum to train the machines, and shape the values baked into systems influencing billions of people? From the specter of end-times speculation to cultural withdrawal, can the church be let off the hook with easy answers? This isn't a conversation about gadgets, but rather about dominion, discipleship, and how the people of God can best show up where it counts. You're invited to listen, and then decide where you stand. This episode is part two of a five-part conversation (piggybacking on a two-part AI discussion from earlier in the year). • The Great Exchange
I have no doubt that when Philip preached the gospel to that eunuch, he would have declared this portion here to that Ethiopian. Because the Holy Spirit doesn't have recorded for us what Philip preached. It just says he began at the text, opens his mouth, and preached unto him Jesus. And what happens next? The eunuch says, there's water. What hindereth me to be baptized? What would hinder me to say I'm with him? What would hinder me to say that I'm a Christian? What would hinder me to say I'm saved? What would hinder me And Philip said, if you believe with all your heart that Jesus Christ is the son of God, you may. Amen. The sermon expounds on the theological concept of double imputation, often called the great exchange, where Christ bears the believer's sin and grants them His perfect righteousness. Drawing primarily from 2 Corinthians 5:21, the message emphasizes that salvation is entirely by grace through faith, not by human merit or works. The preacher illustrates this vital union with Christ using biblical examples such as Adam and Eve's covering in Genesis and the parable of the Pharisee and the publican. The central intent is to comfort believers by affirming their secure standing before God and to convict sinners to look solely to Jesus for pardon and perfection. Ultimately, the gospel proclaims that those who come to Christ are justified, washed clean, and made righteous without spot or wrinkle.
