  • Book Review: Authentic Christianity by Martyn Lloyd Jones
Authentic Christianity, Volume 1 is a collection of expository sermons preached at Westminster Chapel, London by David Martyn Lloyd-Jones — known to his congregation simply as "the Doctor." Working through the first three chapters of Acts, Lloyd-Jones holds the early church up as a mirror to the modern church and the modern soul. His central argument: Christianity is not an ethical system, a social program, or a religious sentiment — it is a supernatural intervention by the living God, beginning at Pentecost and continuing wherever the Holy Spirit works regeneration. The book is organized around three passages: Acts 1–2 (Pentecost and Peter's sermon), Acts 2:41–47 (the four marks of the early church), and Acts 3 (the healing of the lame man and Peter's second sermon). Lloyd-Jones engages throughout with liberal theology, nominalism, and every effort to reduce Christianity to a creed-free "way of life." The preaching is vintage Lloyd-Jones — doctrinal, searching, and urgent — pressing every listener to examine whether their Christianity is authentic.

  • God Blessed the Seventh Day, 5
One of the Psalms was written specifically for the Sabbath. And, Isaiah is very specific about the practice of Sabbath worship in the Millennium, when Gentiles and Jews alike observe it.

  • Philippians 3.12-21 - Grace and Human Responsibility
The sermon explores the balance between divine grace and human responsibility, arguing that Christians must actively pursue spiritual maturity while acknowledging their inherent imperfection in this life. Drawing from Philippians 3, the text emphasizes that true perfection is only attainable in eternity when God transforms believers' vile bodies into glorious ones like Christ's. It warns against two extremes: the legalistic attempt to earn salvation through works and the libertine disregard for moral conduct. Believers are urged to follow the example of the Apostle Paul, pressing forward toward the high calling of God by relying on Scripture rather than worldly philosophies or false teachers. The central message encourages a stable, upward-focused Christian life grounded in grace but expressed through diligent obedience and hope in future glorification.

  • Put on the Whole Armor of God
This message from Ephesians 6:10–20 reminds us that the Christian life is a spiritual battle, but God has not left His people defenseless. We are called to stand firm, not in our own strength, but in the strength of the Lord, clothed with the armor He Himself provides and resting in the victory Christ has already won. A very practical and encouraging message on how believers can face temptation, discouragement, and spiritual attack with truth, faith, prayer, and confidence in Christ.

  • How to Build A Friendship
This sermon explores the biblical principles for cultivating lasting friendships, emphasizing that strong relationships require intentional effort rather than occurring by accident. Drawing primarily from Proverbs, the message outlines four key actions: reaching out with initiative, opening up through honest conversation and listening, putting up with imperfections via forgiveness, and building others up through encouragement and truth. The preacher illustrates these concepts with personal anecdotes to demonstrate that one must first become a friend to attract friends. Ultimately, the central theme is that friendship is a practical discipline rooted in showing oneself friendly, maintaining trust, and spiritually strengthening one another, mirroring the perfect friendship of Christ.

  • The Eschaton (pt. 5)
Pastor Brewer discusses the condition of immortality that awaits Christian believers upon bodily death. He considers the remarkable fact that, in the new heavens and new earth, the saints will literally fellowship with God - the same God whom the Israelites dared not even look upon without risking death.

  • THE NUMBERS OF GOD
THE NUMBERS OF GOD. [When Numbers Become Part of the Message] Psalm 90:12 KJV Does God use numbers to communicate truth in His Word? From the seven days of Creation to the twelve tribes of Israel, the forty years in the wilderness, Daniel's seventy weeks, the 144,000, and the repeated sevens of Revelation, Scripture reveals a God of remarkable order and purpose. In this Bible study, we examine biblical numerics and the fascinating numerical patterns found throughout Scripture. We will also consider the work of nineteenth-century Bible scholar F. W. Grant, the five-fold structure of the Psalms, and the intriguing theory connecting certain Psalm numbers with events in modern Jewish history—including the striking relationship sometimes proposed between Psalm 48 and the establishment of modern Israel in 1948. But an important distinction must always be maintained: a biblical pattern is not automatically a biblical prophecy. We must never force Scripture to fit a numerical theory. Our guiding principle is simple: SCRIPTURE CONTROLS THE NUMBER. THE NUMBER NEVER CONTROLS SCRIPTURE.

  • WHEN GOLD ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH
WHEN GOLD ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH. [Heaven's Standard of Value]Matthew 6:19–21; 1 Peter 1:7; Revelation 21:21 KJV Deep beneath Manhattan, hundreds of thousands of gold bars are carefully guarded in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Nations consider gold so valuable that they weigh it, verify its purity, record its ownership, and protect it behind enormous security. Yet the Bible tells us about things far more valuable than gold. Our faith is "much more precious than… gold." God's wisdom is better than gold. God's Word is to be desired "more… than much fine gold." And our salvation wasn't purchased with silver or gold, but with "the precious blood of Christ." Jesus therefore commands us not merely to accumulate earthly treasure, but to "lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven." One day every earthly fortune will be left behind. And when God's children enter the New Jerusalem, we will discover that the substance mankind spent centuries fighting to possess is beneath our feet—the street is "pure gold." What earth treasures, Heaven uses for pavement. The greatest treasure isn't gold at all. The greatest treasure is Jesus Christ. So, ask yourself: Where is my treasure—and where is my heart?
