Even secularists look to Nehemiah as a model of leadership. The problem is, we often don't think of ourselves as leaders, and miss the excellent leadership principles throughout the book, thinking they are for someone else. But 'you don't need a title to be a leader'. Christlikeness is leadership, and how Nehemiah deals with complaints at the heart of Israel's community in Nehemiah 5 teaches us Christlike leadership qualities we can all aspire to.
