Story Transcript:

Et: Tallinna Raekoja platsil oli jõuluturu aeg.
En: It was the time of the Christmas market at Tallinna Raekoja square.

En: Christmas lights twinkled across the sky, and snow quietly fell to the ground.

En: The market was filled with the aroma of fragrant mulled wine and fresh gingerbread.

En: Kaupo stood in front of a gift kiosk, watching people walk by.

En: He had lived in Tallinn all his life, and every year he looked forward to the Christmas market.

En: Here, he always felt a certain warmth.

En: Quietly, Aino walked by, having just moved to Tallinn.

En: She was searching for a new home and trying to get to know the city.

En: Aino was adventurous and smiling, but at heart, she needed friends and a sense of belonging.

En: Without noticing, they stood beside each other, both admiring the work of an artist.

En: "Enjoy how beautiful it is here," said Aino quietly, yet enthusiastically.

Et: Kaupo naeratas: "Igatahes, see on minu lemmikaeg aastast."
En: Kaupo smiled, "Indeed, this is my favorite time of year."

Et: "Ma olen alles siia kolinud," vastas Aino.
En: "I've just moved here," Aino replied.

Et: "Proovin leida midagi toredat, et tunneksin end kodus."
En: "I'm trying to find something nice so I can feel at home."

Et: Kaupo vaatas talle pisut kauem silma.
En: Kaupo looked into her eyes a little longer.

En: He decided not to close himself off from anyone again.

Et: "Siis pead kindlasti glögi maitsma.
En: "Then you definitely have to taste the mulled wine.

Et: See on parim osa jõuluturust!"
En: It's the best part of the Christmas market!"

Et: pakkus Kaupo.
En: suggested Kaupo.

Et: "Nii räägitakse!"
En: "So they say!"

Et: ütles Aino naeratades.
En: said Aino, smiling.

Et: Nad liikusid koos glögikioski poole.
En: They moved together towards the mulled wine kiosk.

Et: Kerge aur tõusis tassidest, soojendades külmetavaid käsi.
En: Light steam rose from the cups, warming their cold hands.

En: "Today, Tallinn started to feel like home," Aino admitted, while a gentle smile played on her lips.

En: "In our family, there were always Christmas drinks and gingerbread baking."

En: Kaupo grew quieter, listening, feeling his heart expand.

Et: "Minu ema küpsetas alati enne jõule.
En: "My mother always baked before Christmas.

En: It was a time when we were all together and laughed."

En: Their gazes met at that moment.

Et: Mõlemad mõistsid, et neil on lõpuks keegi, kellega jagada jõuluturgu soojust.
En: Both realized they finally had someone with whom to share the warmth of the Christmas market.

Et: Kui nad õhtul laiali läksid, lubasid nad üksteisele, et kohtuvad taas.
En: When they parted that evening, they promised each other to meet again.

Et: Järgmine kord üle linna jõulutulesid imetlema.
En: Next time, to admire the Christmas lights across the city.

En: It was the beginning that brought Kaupo more new experiences at his core, and Aino felt that year by year, Tallinn became more and more like home.
