What does a "friendly lover" to your husband mean to you?

Today we go in depth about this topic, we learn practical steps, and search how to bear the fruits of joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in our marriages. All fruit originate from the Holy Spirit and begin in the mind before turning into actions. Staying in God's Word and praying daily will cultivate these good fruits.

Psalm 1 paints a picture of the difference between a life devoted to God and a life lived apart from Him. The psalm reminds us that those who seek God's guidance and delight in His Words are blessed.

Last week, we learned how meditating on Scripture helps develop a sound mind. This week, we will explore how a sound mind produces a good (fruitful) life. Together, we will examine what it means to walk closely with God and experience the blessings that flow from a life rooted in Him.

Our feelings and emotions can rob us of peace, joy, and experiencing Gods truths, love, and light which He created to dwell in us. Scripture, which is God's Word, illustrates how we can honor Him and what it looks like in daily application. A form of obedience is to choose to be in God's word and meditate on His words. The power of God, and His holy work in us by the Spirit, guide our thoughts, hence reflected in our actions and our behavior, and leads us to a life that honors Him.

A relationship with God is necessary for growth. As we go through Psalm 1 we learn about God and see glimpses of Jesus, the one who is exalted through a humble heart. The author, David, stays close to God by staying reverent to God, meditating daily, delighting in God, and His statutes. We are encouraged by Davids words and are filled with hope for an eternal life with God.

We wrapped up the day with an exercise to use as a family in analyzing the many things we are exposed to - movies, social media, music, games, etc. Everyone in the family can participate- what was good about it? What was bad about it? What does the Bible say about it? This is a great way to determine which entertainment sources we should be spending our time in.

Part 2 of Teen Day: we divided into groups. This is the recording of the moms' class. Jennifer led the first part with a review of the part Titus w plays in raising our children. Rachel spent time giving moms a big-picture look at what their kids are faced with and concluded with good news- the biggest influence on children, even in our culture, is MOM! Worth a listen!

Teen Day, we set aside time to prepare our teen girls' hearts for the coming year. We talked about discernment- what is true and what is not. Rachel Stickel from Axis.org joined us and led the girls in how to stay anchored in God's Word so that we can be wise in discerning truth!

God has given us a beautiful way to express love, our marriage union, and sexual intimacy. Satan's ploy to destroy marriage is running rampant with the availability of pornographic material.

There are over 100 studies that show the extent of the problem and the havoc it is making on the family.

• Almost as prevelant among women as men?

The average age of children when they are exposed to pornography is 11, but are exposed as young as 6? Is a major contributor to adultery, divorce, sex trafficking, and sexual trauma.

The situation is not hopeless. There are many who have experienced healing, restoration and forgiveness through God's Word and specialized counseling. There are few lives that aren't touched by this issue. We hope to share information and resources that encourage and pave the way for reconciliation and freedom from the slavery of this destructive sin.
