Love isn't just something you have in your heart. It isn't just some feeling that arises when you see someone (or something) you desire. Love is a verb. It requires action. What actions? I'm glad you asked...

Paul, in his letter to the Corinthian church, gives us the most comprehensive definition of love in all of scripture. The interesting thing is that, in doing so, he lists 2 examples of what love is and focuses far more on what love isn't.

In his description of love, Paul uses 8 words to describe what love isn't - he only uses 2 words to describe what it is: Patient and kind.
