Paul, in his letter to the Corinthian church, gives us the most comprehensive definition of love in all of scripture. The interesting thing is that, in doing so, he lists 2 examples of what love is and focuses far more on what love isn't.

In his description of love, Paul uses 8 words to describe what love isn't - he only uses 2 words to describe what it is: Patient and kind.

There are many words for love in the Greek language. The most powerful is the word "agape." This is the word that is most often used when describing the love that God has for us. This is also the type of love we are called to have for each other. So what does this mean?
