a behemoth of an episode today on COPD. i have avoided having to explain this to anyone let alone the public for about 3 odd years but here we are, live and in stereo. in case you don't remember what questions i posed to you;
- is it standard practice in your workplace to routinely give abx to exacerbations of COPD? even if not confirmed to be infective?
- do you believe its ethical to place a patient on NIV knowingly against their wishes, as an emergency measure to get them away from the brink of death so that they can continue to advocate against it when they wake?
i look forward to seeing your responses and opinions!
