God created you as both a physical and spiritual being. The two are inseparable. What you do with your body matters. God is inviting you to be “transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2) and to steward your body in light of the gospel. This requires the deep work of God uprooting the lies that we believe about him and ourselves and replacing them with his truth and grace. As he does this we begin to really understand the importance of stewarding our body well for our good and His glory.

But Jesus doesn’t intend to remove emotions from us. He desires that we would be more emotional for what is good, right, and true.
