Idea: God's anger against sin is good and righteous, but bad news for us as sinners. Yet God is slow to anger, and not slow as some think of it but patient towards us in our sin, not wanting any to perish, but instead accept the gift he made available to us in directing his anger towards the Son Jesus in our stead. The patience of God creates a moment in our time on earth for us to respond in repentance, and so doing sidestep the just wrath of God against our sin and find life.
