1 Corinthians 13:13 clearly states that of faith, hope, and love, the greatest is love. Have you ever wondered why? This sermon seeks to answer that question and, hopefully, to give us a renewed sense of the importance of living a life of love.
Dr. Robert Gladstone gives two messages on the knowledge of God. This is the second of the two. These are timely and powerful messages.
This message, already in progress, is about what the Bible says concerning the act of blessing and speaking blessings over others. This should be a normal practice in our church gatherings. We need to recover the biblical calling to bless.
This sermon concludes the third of the three phrases in verse 10 of 1 Corinthians: “that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” In doing so, it completes Paul’s thesis statement concerning the deeper problems within the Corinthian church.
I was reminded of a Whitney Houston song my mom used to listen to called “I Love the Lord,” a song taken from Psalm 116. This sermon is a message of encouragement, a reminder that God hears our cries, and that causes our hearts to love Him even more.
(Look up the song on YouTube—it’s great!)
Paul uses the phrase, “that there be no divisions among you,” in verse 10 of 1 Corinthians. He is outlining his letter, and this phrase is part of his thesis statement. Before addressing the major problems within the church, Paul brings up division because he knows it is at the root of many of their problems: schisms. Do we take division as seriously as Paul does, or for that matter, as seriously as God does?
This sermon answers a simple question, perhaps in a way you have never heard it answered before: Is it God’s will to heal? It also includes audio from our incoroprated communion service. Listen and be encouraged!
Verse 10 of 1 Corinthians states the thesis of Paul’s letter to the quarreling church. The problem is laid out in three short statements:
“That you all agree.”
“That there be no divisions among you.”
“That you be united in the same mind and in the same judgment.”
This sermon focuses on the first statement: “That you all agree.”
This sermon was an in-the-moment change from what was originally planned. It comes from Galatians 3 and carries a simple command: “Let Peace Rule.”
Humanity is called to bear His image. New Covenant believers are called to bear His name. This sermon is about that.
