Sunday, October 30, 2022 - Today's message is "Church - Heaven's Model on Earth." I don't think many of us think of Church as being a model of what happens in Heaven. For most people, the church is a building that people visit once or maybe twice a week. Some may feel very committed to it, and others may feel that it's an optional thing to attend once in a while if it fits into their busy schedule. The point of today's message is to make the case that the church on earth is the very model of what God is doing in Heaven. If we can appreciate that, we might see our attitude toward the Church differently. First, the Church is Jesus's idea, not man's. Jesus had a reason to establish the church on earth as a body of believers willing to set themselves apart from the sin and brokenness of the world so that they could lead them to Himself. God designs a healthy and vibrant church to attract the broken and needy people to the love of His Son, Jesus. Because God loves the church and its mission, the enemy is set against it. Sadly, the enemy effectively inhibits the mission God has for the church by convincing people that church isn't a necessity in today's busy world. What do you say it is?
