The lack of knowledge of the Faith by a huge number of Catholics is underscored by a huge lack of even a passing familiarity of Scripture, much less teaching and rudimentary information.
All of this leads to a practical inability to actually meditate and concentrate on some of the most beautiful mysteries of the Divine.
Sacred Scripture was once described by Ven. Abp. Fulton Sheen as "God's Love Letters to His chosen."
Indeed, breathed into and inspired directly by the Holy Spirit, the most memorable and awe-inspiring prose in human history is contained within the pages of the books of the Holy Bible.
The chief aim of this apostolate is to be used by Heaven to help save souls. We pray for that every day in chapel as a staff, and it is an intention we take as literally the most serious one we make.
That's why each year, as the Christmas shopping season kicks off, we seek to provide tools and gifts you can purchase as presents that will help inspire a deeper love of the Catholic faith.
This year, we have an unsurpassed gift for your consideration.
The psalms and the book of Proverbs together contain some of the most beloved and well-known passages of Holy Scripture.
As many of you are aware, Milo Yiannopoulos has returned to the full practice of his Catholic faith, and a couple months back, he approached us with an idea for recording all the psalms and proverbs in time for the end of the year, for people to give as presents.
Needless to say, we agreed.
Catholics' lack of knowledge of Scripture is, in a word, appalling.
St. Jerome, who translated the Bible from Greek into Latin in the cave at Bethlehem, said, "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ."
Church Militant staff pray the Liturgy of the Hours every day in the chapel — which is almost exclusively scriptural — and then, largely comprised of the psalms on a four-week cycle. So when Milo said, "Hey, want to do this?" ... we jumped at it.
In this spellbinding new recording, Milo Yiannopoulos narrates the complete and unabridged Psalms & Proverbs, reading from the 1889 Challoner revision of the Douay-Rheims Bible.
[Transcript unavailable]
The Douay-Rheims translation is faithful to the Latin Vulgate and remains the preferred English translation of the Catholic Bible for traditionally minded Catholics.
This seven-hour, six-CD set includes bonus material, such as new readings of the Act of Contrition, Prayer of St. Francis, St. Patrick's Breastplate Prayer and the Prayer to St. Michael — freshly recorded by Milo for this edition — plus original incidental music by composer William Mahoney.
This collection of the Psalms & Proverbs narrated by Milo Yiannopoulos is simply magnificent — a gift that will be treasured for years.
The Sacred Scriptures were not only canonized by the Catholic Church, they were translated, transcribed, defended, honored and promoted by the One True Faith that gave the world the Bible.
As you move deeper into a devotional life that includes recitation and meditation on the Psalms, you see and hear the foretelling of Our Blessed Lord — of His mission of redemption — as the psalms are just that: prophetic utterances of Him, whom the Holy Spirit inspired David to write of a thousand years before He incarnated.
As the world grows more and more tumultuous and uncertain, touching base and returning to our roots always provides spiritual and emotional stability. Listening to this collection will help crowd out the doubt and anxiety and fortify you to engage in battle, serving as a reminder of what — and more importantly, Whom — it is we fight for.
Likewise, on the subject of tumultuous times, we are once again happy to offer our annual calendar, complete with very specific artwork and photos taken right from within the walls of our apostolate.
As you may know, the studio has loads of visitors who are always keen to see what things look like from behind the cameras, and this calendar is designed to provide you with an up-close look at our media home.
It's a good size with sufficient room to be able to make notes in the individual date boxes, and has all the important dates of the Church's liturgical life, as well as dates of high importance to the apostolate, of which so many of you have been so supportive and generous.
So as your Christmas shopping needs begin to come into focus, please consider purchasing either of these, or both, or any other items we have available for your friends, family and even yourself.
Just click on the provided link to make your purchase, which helps us continue doing the main work of this apostolate, which is to be used to help save souls.
Thank you in advance for buying at least some of your Christmas presents from us as well as all your continued support and prayers.

As the midterm elections begin to come into focus, there is a very serious topic authentic political conservatives are going to have to address: the so-called religious Left.
First point: They are not religious. That's a masquerade to push communism in a way that appears palatable to poorly educated Christians.
Second point: They need to be called on it at every turn.
Third point: Political conservatives need to start speaking in overtly religious manners to offset the gains the Left has made pretending to be religious.
The soft underbelly of the religious Left needs to be exposed. And frankly, since the entire thing is a facade, its soft underbelly is vastly exploitable. Political conservatives have, for the most part, tended to stay clear of outright religiosity. Stupid move. What needs to be understood is that, as leaders, they need to lead. And yes, that means calling out phony religion when they encounter it.
The landscape looks like this: Be they Catholics or whatever variety of tens of thousands of Protestant denominations, a huge percentage of Christians have been malformed in Christianity — so much so that the argument can be easily made that that single reality is responsible for the mess the country finds itself in.
The crisis of the family, unwed mothers, the child-killing industry, fatherless children (especially boys) — all of these things are owing to an abandonment of Christian morality for the past decades. And they have wreaked havoc, not only on souls and their eternal destiny, but also all the way down to government policy initiatives because a sense of Christian compassion still dictates that something be done for tens of millions of citizens suffering the impact of a de-moralized nation.
And note this well, political conservative leaders: This is where the so-called religious Left has scored major inroads with voters.
They have created the notion, in the minds of many, that the effects of the disaster require the government to step in, but (and it's a big "but") they deliberately leave unaddressed the underlying cause of the disaster. Thus, they are able to exploit the symptoms of the problem they themselves have created.
They paint themselves as having the solution and go further by grounding it in the Gospels, draped in a sense of Christian compassion. What they say sounds legitimate on the surface and is able to be capitalized on by them because, given the lack of education of most Christians in authentic Christian truths, getting much below the surface just isn't going to happen.
So the religious Left has created a two-edged narrative of both being compassionate (and caring and understanding) while also painting real Christians and political conservatives as judgmental and hateful — and they whip out Scripture at the drop of a hat to prove their points.
Conservatives, for the most part, forgetting that the Son of God said that even the Devil can quote Scripture for his own ends, just sit by and cede this ground more and more to the Left, afraid that they will be labeled "religious extremists" and pay a price for it in the next election.
So political conservatives simply ignore or (even worse) are unaware of the massive scam that the U.S. bishops have going on when it comes to social justice issues, taking hundreds of millions in government grants over illegal immigration (for example) and directing it to groups who continue to bolster Democratic Party voting rolls.
All in the name of Heaven, of course.
More and more evangelicals are buying into what they hear and read in their worlds about climate change and our "God-given" duty to protect the earth. That is even carried a step further by both liberal Protestants and Catholics, like San Diego bishop Robert McElroy, whose own panderings to the environmental crowd actually caused him to take the position that climate change kills more humans around the world every year than abortion.
That, of course, is flat-out false, and is so outrageous it's hard to believe that anyone could say it with a straight face, but no one has ever accused the religious Left of being meek or timid.
But — follow the bouncing ball here for a moment — dressing up climate change as an existential threat to human life (and, by extension, human dignity) is easily transformed into a gospel-call to vote in leaders who will take the issue seriously. It even allows the religious Left to baptize climate change, to drape it in the language of Christian morality.
They go even further, lumping the issue in with the overall movement of pro-life concerns, creating a mushy middle where the direct killing of children in the womb by the millions no longer occupies the preeminent place on the spectrum of morality.
While they are dead wrong, of course, they're able to exploit the lack of education and proper formation of tens of millions of the baptized and confuse them, softening them up for further exploitation.
The arguments of the religious Left have a "ring of truth" to them, a kind of "gospel logic" that, to the uneducated, can sound reasonable (and since most people never get beyond the surface of almost anything, the religious Left wins way too often).
What political conservatives — leaders and followers — have failed to do is call it out.
Just because someone has a miter on his head or a collar around his neck does not make him an authentic follower of Christ. In fact, far from it. Espousing a general religious principle here or there does not make what flows from that principle a sound, theologically inspired policy decision.
Yet, this happens all the time.
Again — for example — tax the rich; give to the poor. On the surface, it has a certain appeal to quasi-religious folks willing to lend that an ear. After all, according to the religious Left, Jesus said money is bad and evil and will keep you out of Heaven. Likewise, Jesus pounded on helping the poor and the duty to do so, right? So say religious lefties.
The problem is, that's a wild mischaracterization of what Our Blessed Lord said.
But none of that matters to the Left because they know it has a "vague echo" of a Christian morality playing around somewhere in the backs of their minds.
Amplify the message of the religious Left on social media and mainstream Marxist media, and you have created an attractive message (or at least attractive enough) to win close elections.
And that's plan of the Left, after all, and they certainly are not above lying about the gospel to achieve their ends. Their father, after all, is the Devil, and even he cites Scripture for his own end — so why shouldn't they?
If political conservatives continue to fail or ignore these huge inroads the Left has made into nominally religious communities, they are going to get wiped out at some point in the near future.
When that wipeout comes there will be no turning back from it, no course correction, because the ultimate aim of the Left and its "preachers" is to create a godless society — that's what communism is.
They use phony religion to destroy actual religion. Without an effective and immediate full-on assault on the religious Left, the days of political conservatism are over.

I'm Michael Voris, coming to you from Tucson, Arizona, at what is the beginning of a new major pushback by Trump Republicans to expose the cheating that took place in 2020.
For nine hours Tuesday, nine Arizona state lawmakers heard expert testimony as well as witnesses who saw the cheating firsthand — like so many did all around the country. This quasi-formal legislative hearing is the first of roughly a dozen that are going to happen around the country in the next few months.
And that has the Left freaking out — and here's why: This kind of relentless focus on the cheating that occurred in 2020 is encouraging a resentment among rank-and-file Republicans not only aimed at Democrats but, most importantly, at RINOs (Republicans in name only).
The GOP is being reshaped.
More political conservatives are getting involved, running for office and challenging the status quo in the party — a status quo that they say allowed the election theft to go unchallenged and permitted Biden to waltz into the White House.
So they are determined to fully expose the cheating (even more so) and hold RINOs responsible by ending their political careers. Once that is achieved, political conservatives will have almost complete control over the machinery of the election process and install roadblocks to blow up the Left's takeover.
So far, the strategy is working and working so well that the Marxist Democrats are losing their minds.
In just the past week alone, both The Atlantic and The New York Times have gone ballistic over what is going on. The title of The Atlantic's article says it all: "Trump's Next Coup Has Already Begun."
And the subtitle demonstrates exactly how the GOP is being portrayed: Donald Trump's GOP is much better positioned to subvert the next election.
What's going on in the rank and file of the GOP is being painted as subversion of the system.
A couple of days after The Atlantic article, The New York Times piled on in an extensive article titled "Letting Losers Win." The Times pushed the narrative that what's going on at events like this one here in Pima County, Arizona, is a subversion of the system. In it, you almost hear Democrats' heads exploding.
Michigan secretary of state Democrat Jocelyn Benson, who turned away thousands of voters asking for an audit of the questionable vote in the state, is quoted as saying, "This is a five-alarm fire. If people ... aren't taking this as the most important issue of our time and acting accordingly, then we may not be able to ensure democracy prevails again in '24."
In another section ("In Plain Sight") precisely what is happening here in Arizona is being expanded on: "The main battlegrounds are swing states where Republicans control the state legislature, like Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin."
And with that lone sentence, the Marxists have identified the source of their fears. Those five states have come to determine the winner of the presidency, and all five have Republican legislatures, legislatures that are now being primed to do what should have happened prior to 2020 — that the voting process not be able to be co-opted by the Democrats. And within the GOP, the memo has gone out: Get on board with this now or you will be primaried and replaced with a new Republican who is dedicated to preventing "the steal" in 2024.
The political landscape is thus shaping up to be this:
That process is off to the races and scoring major successes — hence the reason for lefties' heads exploding. Trump is, and was, the impetus for this, but at this point, it has grown bigger than Trump the man.
Call it Trumpism if you want, but whatever you call it, the Marxist Democrats are freaking out.
You may have heard the political saying that whatever the Left accuses you of is actually what they are doing themselves. We saw that with Hillary and the Russia narrative as well as Biden and the Ukraine narrative. And now here we are, seeing it again. Democrats, who have had to cheat and subvert to attain the power they have, are now seeing a formidable resistance form against their evil to actually reverse it and, true to form, patriots are being accused by them of cheating and subverting democracy.
Faithful Catholics will undoubtedly notice the eerie parallels with the Marxist takeover of a vast portion of the Church as well.
Being asleep at the switch (for way too long) has allowed a gradual corruption of the usual life of the Church, and it has now reached the point where the Marxist forces within the Church feel free to accuse the faithful of being rigid, too tied to tradition and so forth. Faithful Catholics need to take a page out of the conservative political playbook and start actively pushing back.
While the Church is not a democracy, there are ways to make your voices heard and effect at least some change:
Being asleep at the switch (both in the political world and especially the Church) opened a door for communism to walk into both and set a plan in place to destroy.
Church Militant has been hammering on this for years now — the interplay between the political world and the Church. If the communists are not actively challenged on every front, they will succeed.
The duty of the new Republicans and faithful Catholics is to realize that this is the call of our time — to battle back and defeat all this evil.
The bad guys are freaking out because they see what is shaping up to be a challenge to everything they have achieved. We need to make sure they realize their fears.
As the 2022 midterms come into focus, remember that Church Militant is your go-to source for all things related to Catholicism and the political order.

First a blessed feast day to you today on this Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It's always important to remember that our heavenly Father is always at work, even at times He seems completely absent.
All those millennia ago, quietly, in the smallest unknown stirring of the womb of St. Anne, our Blessed Mother was conceived in preparation to be the Mother of God. It would be her fiat "let it be done unto me" that would bring forth redemption for the human race and our hope of salvation.
The Blessed Trinity saw it all, of course, even though it was completely absent from the mind or eyes of man. God is in control and working at every instant, even when we don't see it at a particular point in time. Roughly 16 years onward from her Immaculate Conception, preserved free from all stain of original sin, she who was conceived today would herself conceive Him who brought about her conception.
So again, a splendid feast day to you from all of us here at Church Militant. It was one week ago today that Church Militant brought you extensive coverage of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case at the United States Supreme Court. As a quick aside, thank you for following our reports from there.
It is always a great blessing to be able to bring you our coverage from events that amount to history in the making, as it's actually unfolding; and we could not do that without your continued financial and spiritual support. Amidst all the hoopla and exuberance of what sure looks like a sharp rollback (if not outright overturning) of Roe v. Wade, we need to step back and consider what actually is happening — a reality check.
Putting it bluntly, for two hours, one week ago today, nine Supreme Court justices and three attorneys went back and forth about exactly when a child should be deliberately killed, slaughtered, in the womb — not if, but when. On the question of the life of the baby, not a word was spoken — even by the so-called conservative justices (five of whom are Catholic).
The best that can be hoped for at this point is that a majority of the Court decides that the question of protecting the lives of millions of children in the womb is not in their jurisdiction and they return the matter to the individual states for voters to decide the fate of the unborn.
Imagine the uproar on the Marxist Left if the high court would have applied that same litmus test to homosexuals wanting to get married: "Well, we'll just let the individual voters decide that in each state" (which, by the way, over 30 states already had, and, by a 5–4 vote, the Supreme Court just swept aside).
Think about this: The culture has become so degraded, become so heartless, this is the reality the pro-life movement is staring dead in the face. Talk about a low bar! Yet that is precisely what we are all facing — the sad fact that in some states, about half actually, the killing will continue unabated, actually even be stepped up.
The culture is so compromised right now, so completely off the rails, that the "glass is half empty/half full" scenario is the best we can hope for. And mind you, this best-case scenario only comes about if a majority of the court kicks Roe.
Of course, that is to be celebrated — don't get us wrong here. But like scoring a touchdown when you're trailing by 35 points is to be celebrated, you still need to look up at the scoreboard and realize you're desperately behind.
It's curious that when the apostate-Catholic Sonia Sotomayor accused the state of Mississippi of pushing a "religious" view of when life begins, none of the other five justices jumped in and said, "Well, let's talk about that issue. When exactly does life begin, my fellow justice? Are we permitted to ask that question, explore it here from the bench? You opened the door to that, so let's go through it, shall we?"
Why didn't any of them ask the question of Sotomayor or Biden's solicitor, Do you believe what's in the womb is a human being? Is it human? Is it alive? Is it a human life? Is it not, then, a human being? Justice Sotomayor, can you please put before the court a case of something determined to be a human life that is not at the same time and in the same respect a human being?
How about you, Madam Solicitor? Anything? One case, anywhere, from any time or place in human history? Because, Madam Solicitor, if that "thing" in the womb is a human being, then the 14th Amendment automatically kicks in and that "thing" has a right to due process before its life is extinguished.
Where was that line of discussion, that line of thinking, that line of argument? It was totally absent. Even the attorney for Mississippi was happy to put forth and argue the idea that the moral evil of contraception was a perfectly permissible reason to dump Roe.
Contraception is the very reason we have Roe in the first place. The law has become unmoored from any sense of morality, so arguments, even when they are in the right regarding the outcome, are always lacking, always fall short, are always willing to accept a compromise — even if the ball is advanced down the field.
It's one thing to move the ball up and down the field — it's quite another to score a touchdown and considerably more to actually win the game. So as we await what appears to be some kind of "favorable" outcome, we cannot forget that there are mountains to be moved to restore America to a "nation under God."
As monumental as the decision will likely be, the half century of fighting, praying, politicking, protesting — all of it will only make the tiniest of dents in the Culture of Death.
That is the reality of evil. It is relentless. We have to be even more relentless. We have to raise the bar, not accept a low one.
At our individual judgments, that is what will determine our eternal destiny: Did we fight like Heaven to raise the bar — or did we accept a low one?

I'm Michael Voris, coming you from the U.S. Supreme Court, where the most important case on abortion in the past half century has just concluded oral arguments.
After two hours of some pretty intense back and forth on both sides and coming from both liberal and conservative justices, the case is now concluded, and the nation awaits a ruling. Side note — even though the court often holds off on handing down opinions until late June, there's no guarantee that it will take that long. It could come at any time.
But whenever it's handed down, here's the certainty: Either the justices will entirely abandon Roe v. Wade as well as Casey (directly or indirectly), or the high court will come up with some new, crazy standard to support what's called the "right to an abortion."
So going deeper, here's the reality: The case could not have even reached the court today had not at least four justices agreed to hear it. That does not automatically translate into at least four justices who would overturn Roe, but it does mean that at least four justices were at least willing to consider it.
That has the pro-abortion camp terrified that the truth of this evil is now up for consideration. But likewise, it has the pro-life side energized like never before in the past two and maybe three generations.
The scene around the court earlier today was symbolic of this new reality.
Pro-lifers were out in force, vastly outnumbering the death merchants — in fact, for most of the day, the pro-aborts (who fittingly enough stood on the left of the court's front steps) were completely surrounded by a much larger and louder crowd, something I personally have never witnessed here at the court or even heard of, for that fact.
And moreover, the atmosphere of the pro-lifers here was more like a huge block party. Music pumped in over giant speakers they set up last night; smiles, hugs, donuts, singing, dancing, high fives — you name it. It was refreshing to see, and a privilege to witness firsthand.
None of that, of course, guarantees any outcome. But here's the rub: Why would the court choose to hear a case on a matter that, in the past, other justices have said is "settled"?
That, again, is what has pro-lifers literally dancing in the street here (and child killers looking pretty glum).
But inside the court, the arguments and back and forths and so forth did seem to boil down to this one salient and ultimate point — when it comes to abortion, it's an all-or-nothing matter.
Of course, the pro-life side has maintained that truth for decades. The pro-death side actually believes that too, but has been completely dishonest about it. That's why the revolting Bill Clinton hid his embrace of child killing under the ridiculous phrase "keep abortion safe, legal and rare."
They lie about wanting abortion to be absolute — abortion on demand, abortion with no apologies. Only very recently have they come out and admitted that, and, today, for the first time in legal history, they had to admit it's all or nothing.
When asked by Brett Kavanaugh, if the court drew the line for legal abortion at another place (other than the current line of the point of viability), could the pro-abortion attorney suggest one to them, her answer was no. Anything else would be arbitrary — as if 24 weeks in the womb or 28, or whatever, isn't arbitrary.
The Mississippi law before the court actually redraws the line at 15 weeks. But what came out today in court was that the law is merely a vehicle to completely overturn Roe. Attorneys for Mississippi said (in essence and fact) Roe needs to go. The child killers said everything needs to be left in place, just as it is.
So no constitutional right to abortion or a constitutional right to abortion on demand — it's all out in the open now. No doubts remain.
It's hard to envision some "compromise," as Brett Kavanaugh said. There's the pretended right of a woman to kill her child versus the right of the child to live. There's no way to square this circle, and that became abundantly clear to everyone today. And it seems even the justices understand that anything other than a "yes" or "no" will not do.
The pro-abort justices (Kagan, Breyer and mostly Sotomayor, who was rude and interrupted nonstop), that trio kept trying to force the point that Roe and Casey work and all is good, that there's nothing worth reconsidering.
But the other six justices peppered questions at the pro-abort attorneys, trying to bring out legal distinctions and philosophical points that Roe could be overturned and no great damage done to the court or country.
It's, of course, never a good thing to try and read the tea leaves of a court by reading into the questions — but the questions are not nothing. They at least reflect the thinking of judges, and, in this case, it sounded like the justices were trying to get on the record that this is all or nothing. If that was the point of the questions, then today's arguments succeeded.
It does appear that, for the first time in a long time, America may be on the verge of a post-Roe world.
How exactly that will play out is still uncertain, but it does seem that pro-life America, having fought for decades to arrive at this moment, will now have to start imagining what life will look like after Roe.
As Winston Churchill said following the first major military defeat of Nazi forces at Stalingrad and then El Alamein, "This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
And just like the Allies in World War II knew from the outset (as did the Axis Powers) some things are all or nothing.
