    TRANSCRIPT

In the ninth century, the Church's first-ever Eucharistic controversy arose between two French monks in the same monastery. It wasn't as controversial as it has later been painted, because it was really a "word war," each of them using the same words but assigning the words different meanings.

They had each written a book on the subject, with the Emperor Charles the Bald being the impetus because he wanted to better understand the Church's teaching. When the men had each died, the controversy died with them. Ah, but their books remained, and when we fast-forward to the 11th century, now the fun begins.

Another French monk/priest, Berengarius of Tours, who was well respected for his intellect as well as his simple piety, essentially held the position that Our Lord is really present in the Eucharist, just not fully. It was the theory that the Protestant reformers, especially John Calvin, would seize on 500 years later to deny transubstantiation.

The Church has always believed in the Real Presence.

After a series of councils and appearances and inquiries in Rome and France over more than 20 years, where he stood his ground, then confessed he was wrong, then went back and insisted he was right and recanted his confessions, Berengerius signed an admission of faith in 1079 (composed for him):

I, Berengarius, believe in my heart and openly profess that the bread and wine that are placed on the altar are through the mystery of the sacred prayer and the words of our Redeemer substantially changed into the true and proper life-giving Flesh and Blood of Jesus Christ our Lord; and that after the consecration is the true Body of Christ, which was born of the Virgin, as an offering for the salvation of the world hung on the Cross, and sits at the right hand of the Father; and [is] the true Blood of Christ which flowed from His side; not only through the sign and power of the sacrament but in His proper nature and true substance; as it is set down in this summary and as I read it and you understand it. Thus I believe, and I will not teach any more against this faith. So help me God and this holy gospel of God.

Of course, he went right back home and recanted that as well, just as he had recanted this one, 20 years earlier, confessing in part

The bread and wine which are placed on the altar are after consecration not only a sacrament but also the true Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the senses not only sacramentally but in truth are taken and broken by the hands of the priests and crushed by the teeth of the faithful.

Berengarius' stubbornness is not so much the important part here, but rather, that in seeking to have him admit his error, various councils and ecclesiastical gatherings were forced to clearly lay out, in short form, what the Church had actually believed for the first 1,000 years.

In fact, so clear had these various compositions been regarding what the Church holds and teaches about the Eucharist and the Real Presence (body, blood, soul and divinity), that a thousand years later, Pope Paul VI referred back to them and used them as sources in his own Eucharistic encyclical.

The Church has always believed in the Real Presence, even if it took some controversies and historical clashes to ink it down in precise theological language.

Around a century or so after the Berengarius uproar, the Church, at the insistence of French King Louis VII, established Eucharistic Adoration on this date, Sept. 11, 1226, as a military victory over the heretical group the Albigensians who, among many things, denied the Real Presence.

So 9/11 and the Eucharist have a very close association stretching back almost 800 years, a historical note we thought we'd point out for your edification.

The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Faith. That's why we here at Church Militant have devoted more of our theological resources to this one single teaching than any other one.

We have produced literally dozens and dozens of hours of programming content on the Eucharist, which, frankly, if some bishops had done, there wouldn't be the need for their multimillion-dollar Eucharistic Revival.

They have let faith in the Real Presence be destroyed on their watch. Many didn't care. And let's be honest, an alarming number of them don't even believe. But their lack of faith does not remove the obligation of the faithful who do believe, to preach and teach the teachings that need to be taught and explained. And chief among them is the Eucharist.

So we are providing a link down below to what amounts to a virtual warehouse of our Church Militant Eucharist video resources, from which you can pick and choose anything you'd like to help you in this area or enhance what you already know.

While it's great for us to learn and have the Faith via the knowledge of the teachings, remember, ultimately, we need to do everything we can to help others understand the beauty of the Faith as well.

We need to learn all of this so we can then teach others.

It may not be fair. (What in life is?) But it now falls to the properly formed faithful to step in and pick up where bishops let things be destroyed (and in some cases, actually worked intentionally to destroy them). We need to learn all of this so we can then teach others. That's how the Faith is passed in families, among friends, etc.

Saint Peter says to always be prepared to give a reason for your hope. That is not an appeal to an emotional response or explanation. It's an appeal to explain, logically and thoroughly, the Faith. Intellectually lay it out.

It can be explained with emotion (sort of should be, actually), but the explanation itself cannot be based on emotion. It must be based on knowledge, as in, "My people perish for lack of knowledge."

Lastly, the entirety of our individual salvation depends on the degree of effort we extend to help others come to the truth. We offered this quote many times here at Church Militant from Fr. John Hardon: "Any Catholic not about the business of evangelization, might never entertain a serious hope of the Beatific Vision."

As philosophers say, you cannot give what you do not have. So please click on the provided link to purchase our Eucharistic materials on DVD or CD, or get a Premium subscription so you can watch them online. And learn, learn, learn so you can teach, teach, teach.

  • The Rosary Is the Surefire Way to Destroy Communism

    TRANSCRIPT

We've been saying all week, in the lead-up to today's Vortex, that today is the day the Church sets aside to honor the birthday of Mary, the Mother of God.

So a happy feast day to all of you and happy birthday to you, Blessed Mommy. And no, you shouldn't ask her how old she is. Just say the truth: Whatever your age, you look beautiful!

Now the true believers and followers of Christ have many times and in many places endured persecution by, shall we just say, "the State." Even before Nero set Rome ablaze and blamed the Christians, the Jewish leadership, which served as "the State" over Israel's religion, had launched its own persecution against the believers.

Just ask any of those murdered by Saul of Tarsus (unleashed on the believers by the Sanhedrin). In fact, it's hard and takes some thinking to actually find a time in Church history when some state leader or governmental system wasn't going after authentic believers.

Of course, there were breaks and rest periods here and there, but eventually, some state officials took a fancy to wiping out Catholics in his or their dominion, and voilà — prison, death, etc.

However, what makes the current situation largely unique is that today, the State that was founded on mostly Catholic principles is what is now attacking Catholics. And in a pretty new twist, that State is run by, you guessed it, Catholics. Of course, phony Catholics but baptized Catholics nonetheless.

And in what is a largely 21st-century phenomenon (owing to technology), that "State" is now universal like the Church it seeks to destroy. It has really come down to a battle between the universal Church and the universal anti-church (the State). Talk about not enough room in this town for both of us.

While Hell had to content itself with multiple states and empires here or there, scattered across the globe hither and yon, being used to attack the faithful, there was never a truly universal action against the Church — until now.

Simply put, the technology was just not up to it. Now, however, it is. All the global forces that exercise control over states are now able to link up and act as one combined force. That force is worldwide communism. Of course, it doesn't call itself that, but that's what it is.

Happy birthday to you, Blessed Mommy!

And we aren't talking about communism and/or Marxism as theoretical economic systems. In the end, communism isn't and never was about economics. It was and is about a new ordering of the world, a kind of culmination of all the dark forces rolled into one and taking direct aim at the only other universal structure on the planet, the Catholic Church.

As an aside, imagine how horrifying all this would really be if it had not been for the words from Our Blessed Lord Himself: "On this rock, I will build My Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it." That was said for our benefit, not His. He didn't need any reassurance or self-comforting, but we do.

It's altogether fitting that the enemy of mankind should have at last morphed into a truly worldwide nemesis, a truly globalist elite, a universal empire to take on the universal Church. It's almost like St. John the Apostle foresaw something of all this and then wrote it down in the book of apocalyptic writings.

Important to note, extremely important, in fact, that in his revelation, St. John, who had housed Mary for, tradition tells us, roughly 15–20 years, saw the pivotal and prophetic role she would have in the battle against the universal empire: "Then a great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun."

Millennia later, that same woman would appear at Fatima and perform the Miracle of the Sun as the opening salvo to alert her children of the forming universal empire run by the great Red Dragon. At those apparitions, she also instructed us to pray the Rosary.

So concluding today, on the birthday of Our Blessed Mother, as we have been doing this week, we are offering our Rosary bundle in the Church Militant store. The bundle includes the Rosary on CD, together with the first edition of The Weapon, while supplies last.

It's a $35 value for only $25! Get all four sets of mysteries of the Rosary available to play in your car or at home so you can pray along with the meditations.

And of course, the first edition of The Weapon casts the Rosary as precisely what it is — a weapon. Almost the entire Apocalypse of St. John is cast as a war, which the spiritual life is.

We get into the "war" aspects of the Rosary in the book, which is why we called it The Weapon. How can you fight a war without weapons (and not just any weapons, but the right weapons)?

So here is an opportunity to delve deeply into the Rosary's mysteries, understanding the story of the life of Jesus and Mary beyond the superficial and coming to appreciate this simple, yet profound, prayer all the more.

Just click on the provided link to take a look and place your order. Again, while supplies last. It's not just about the natural order fight, which must be engaged in, but also the supernatural preparation and discipline.

If the Son of God walked the dual path of prayer and works, which He did, then that's the same path we must follow.

  • Why 'Conservatives' Never Defeat the Evil Commies

    TRANSCRIPT

Patriots, conservatives, the Right — whatever the group and no matter how much they may overlap — have to come to terms with a reality that many have only sort of intuited: The current war with the forces of darkness (e.g., communism) does not have just a political solution. The communists have too much control of the political machinery to simply "trust the process" (the political process).

Church Militant is always pounding the drum that we humans are a composite of body and soul, that we live in two side-by-side realities, the material world and the spiritual world, the natural and, at the same time, the supernatural order. Evil also operates in these spheres, simultaneously. When the spiritual order is overrun, the material order will disintegrate.

Too late to the game in realizing this has the "conservative" side been. Politics cannot save us. Properly ordered and run political systems are what you have when the people are moral, meaning spiritually healthy. Politics is downstream from culture, and when culture goes off, politics follows.

In a republic, political leaders mount to heights of power based on the people's choices, their votes. Those votes are based on their worldviews, their philosophies of life. So what the communists set out to do a century ago was alter people's, the citizens', philosophies of life. That would require ultimately seizing control of institutions that helped people form their worldviews.

Education was the target, both formal and news media. Institutions had to be overrun so that young minds could begin to have their intellects corrupted. The communists played the long game, their strategy even being dubbed by them the "long march through the institutions."

When the spiritual order is overrun, the material order will disintegrate.

Once a generation or two or three was sufficiently impacted intellectually, future ones would follow naturally, because human nature is fallen. This is what we are now seeing, with a sufficient number of the population having their minds poisoned, that the scales have tipped and there really is no "going back," not through mere politics.

Let's be very clear: In no way is Church Militant suggesting the political fight be abandoned. Not at all. As most of you know, each election and campaign cycle, Church Militant pours tons of resources into coverage of the vote. We will continue to do that.

What we are saying is that the other part of the equation, the spiritual side, has been way too neglected for way too long. The enemy ultimately is Satan, of course, the red dragon that makes war on the sons of the Woman.

But he makes that war in large part through politics, through the State. True, he is pure spirit, but he must operate in and through the material world, and he does.

It has to begin and end with a spiritual battle plan, which is why all this week, which concludes on Friday the 8th, the birthday of Our Blessed Mother, we are offering a Rosary bundle in our Church Militant store.

The bundle includes the Rosary on CD, together with the first edition of The Weapon, while stocks last.  It's a $35 value for only $25! Get all four sets of mysteries of the Rosary available to play in your car or at home so you can pray along with the meditations. And, of course, the first edition of The Weapon casts the Rosary as precisely what it is, a weapon.

While meditating on the mysteries might occasionally produce a warm and fuzzy, that's just a happy side effect here and there. The Rosary was given to us by Heaven not so much for feeling good and having a little spiritual high but to fight, to become spiritually disciplined and increase in that discipline and grow in spiritual strength.

We get into the "war" aspects of the Rosary in the book. So here is an opportunity to delve deeply into the Rosary's mysteries, understanding the story of the life of Jesus and Mary beyond the superficial and coming to appreciate this simple, yet profound, prayer all the more.

Just click on the provided link to take a look and place your order, again, while supplies last.

It's not just about the natural order fight, which again must be engaged in, but also the supernatural preparation and discipline. If the Son of God walked the dual path of prayer and works, which He did, then that's the same path we must follow.

  • Our Lady Has Been Warning Us This Whole Time

    TRANSCRIPT

In 1917, the Queen of Heaven came to earth to warn her children about communism and its awesome destructive power.

It is, in no uncertain words, the Death Star of the demonic, with its treacherous anti-human, anti-God ideology that has plagued humanity for over a century. And here, in the United States, it has taken over not just multiple institutions but also a political party, the Democrats.

There is a link, a connection, between America as we traditionally understand the concept and its being fought violently against by the Democrats. Communism ultimately rails against humanity and God's creation — even God Himself.

That is how, in one glance, you know its origin is the pits of Hell. The Dems have adopted the Communist Manifesto as their party platform. Period.

They detest and devalue human life at every turn, beginning with the weakest — the elderly, the preborn. Then they implement their race-baiting policies, keeping down African Americans and wiping out the family in that community, making a large portion of them completely dependent on the State.

Democratic Party policies are communist. Period. No matter what they call themselves — globalists, environmentalists, social justice warriors, socialists — they are all the same. They detest religion. They hate American exceptionalism because that exceptionalism is based on Catholic principles of the dignity of every human being created in the image of God.

They hate God, just as Satan does, and they hate humanity, just as Satan does. (Humanity is why Lucifer was cast out of the angelic realm, after all.)

That's why so many of their policies are aimed at depopulation, no matter how they get at it — "health crisis," controlling the weather, abortion, contraception. They employ them all. Communism is a sinister force that seeks to undermine and destroy the very fabric of Western civilization, our freedom and our Faith.

The Dems have adopted the Communist Manifesto as their party platform.

It's a godless ideology that reduces human beings to mere cogs in a soulless machine, again, stripping away the dignity that comes from being made in the image and likeness of God. The horrors of communism are too numerous to count. The mass executions, the suppression of religion, the forced atheism, the re-education camps — all hallmarks of an ideology that places the State above God and crushes the individual under the heel of an all-powerful government.

No wonder the Queen of the Universe was dispatched by Heaven at the very moment communism was being born to warn us and set forth a battle plan against it. In the face of this menace, we have a powerful weapon: the Rosary.

Our Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, has appeared throughout history to remind us of the importance of prayer, penance and devotion to Her Immaculate Heart, and now, more so than ever. The Rosary is a spiritual weapon that pierces through the darkness of communism and brings about true conversion and healing.

When we pray the Rosary, we meditate on the life, death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. It's a powerful way to combat the lies and deception spread by the proponents of communism, whose main work is to convince people that Our Lord is a nonentity.

Our Lady of Fatima, in her appearances a century ago, warned us about the spread of communism and the devastating consequences it would bring. She asked for the Rosary to be prayed, and she backed up her requests and warnings with perhaps the greatest miracle beneath the Resurrection, the Miracle of the Sun.

A miracle of that magnitude underscores the importance of the vision and the message. Let's heed the call of Our Lady. Let us take up the Rosary and pray fervently for the crushing defeat of communism and the triumph of Christ's Kingdom.

All this week, which concludes on Friday the 8th, the birthday of Our Blessed Mother, we are offering a Rosary bundle in our Church Militant store. The bundle includes the Rosary on CD, together with the first edition of The Weapon, while stocks last.

It's a $35 value for only $25! Get all four sets of Mysteries of the Rosary, available to play in your car or at home so you can pray along with the meditations. And, of course, the first edition of The Weapon casts the Rosary as precisely what it is — a weapon.

While meditating on the mysteries might occasionally produce a warm and fuzzy, that's just a happy side effect here and there.

Our Lady of Fatima warned us about the spread of communism.

The Rosary was given to us by Heaven not so much for feeling good and having a little spiritual high, but to fight, to become spiritually disciplined and increase in that discipline and grow in spiritual strength. We get into the "war" aspects of the Rosary in the book.

So here is an opportunity to delve deeply into the Rosary's mysteries, understanding the story of the life of Jesus and Mary beyond the superficial and coming to appreciate this simple, yet profound prayer, all the more.

Just click on the provided link to take a look and place your order, again, while supplies last. It's not just about the natural order fight, which, again, must be engaged in, but also the supernatural preparation and discipline.

Remember, the battle against communism is not just a political one (which it is, of course, demanding great action from us in that arena) but ultimately a spiritual one as well.

Let us arm ourselves with the Rosary and the devotion to Our Lady, for she is the Queen of Heaven and earth, and, through her, we can conquer every evil that stands in our way.

  • Our Lady Is the Ultimate Ally in Overthrowing Communism

    TRANSCRIPT

As we pointed out last week, the No. 1 enemy of the Faith on the world stage right now is communism. It operates under various movements: climate alarmism, globalism and so forth. And each of those movements spawns insidious consequences of its own.

One especially urgent issue striking at the very heart of Western civilization is communism's push for cancel culture. Communism is a cancer that is plaguing humanity, leaving a trail of destruction, death, and despair wherever it takes root.

And now, we're witnessing a disturbing trend right here in America — the power of cancel culture, which is a throwback to the oppressive tactics employed by communist regimes of the past.

Cancel culture seeks to silence dissenting voices, erase history and impose a narrow, ideologically driven narrative on society. It's a dangerous force that tramples on the principles of free speech and open discourse, principles that are the bedrock of any free and just society.

Way too many Catholics do nothing except pray.

It's precisely why our 2021 rally against the bishops was shut down by the city of Baltimore and we had to go to court just to win back our First Amendment rights, but not without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees to get that victory.

Many of you are, of course, already clued into the tactics of the commies. So the question is, What can we do in the face of these daunting challenges?

In addition to action (political and cultural) in the natural realm, we must also especially concentrate efforts in the supernatural realm as well. Both are needed. On the one hand, way too many Catholics do nothing except pray, a kind of retreat from the spiritual war into piety.

That's not good enough; it's faith and good works. That means becoming involved — on the streets, in politics and so forth. On the other hand, the "activist" Catholics too often get absorbed and even lost in the "works" part and too often neglect (or downplay the importance of) the supernatural.

Again, both are needed. We are a composite of body and soul: the natural, material order and the supernatural order. Both areas, both dynamics, must be fully engaged in the war.

On the spiritual side, the answer lies in our unwavering devotion to the Rosary and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our Lady, in her various apparitions, has consistently called for prayer, penance and a return to God's truth.

And of course, when it comes to communism, the last approved apparition of the Queen of Heaven, Fatima, spoke directly to its dangers. Just as communism was making its ascent in Russia, the Heavenly Queen came almost at the exact same moment, on the opposite side of Europe, to warn about its dangers.

    It's faith and good works.

The Rosary is not just a set of beads, but a powerful spiritual weapon that can cut through the lies and deception propagated by communist ideologies and cancel culture. Through its mysteries, we meditate on the life of Christ and the guidance of Our Lady, finding strength to stand up against the forces that seek to silence us.

But let's not forget that beyond communism and cancel culture, the world needs a guiding light to overcome these challenges. Catholicism, the One True Faith, is the beacon of truth that can illuminate the darkness engulfing our culture.

The teachings of the Catholic Church provide the moral compass that can steer us away from the destructive paths of communism and cancel culture.

It's Catholicism that upholds the dignity of the individual, defends free speech, and champions the sanctity of life from conception to natural death — in short, everything communism seeks to destroy.

So all this week, which concludes on Friday the 8th on the birthday of our Blessed Mother, we are offering a Rosary bundle in our Church Militant store. The bundle includes the Rosary on CD together with the first edition of The Weapon, while stocks last.

It's a $35 value for only $25! Get all four sets of mysteries of the Rosary available to play in your car or at home so you can pray along with the meditations. And, of course, the first edition of The Weapon casts the Rosary as precisely what it is — a weapon.

While meditating on the mysteries might occasionally produce a warm and fuzzy feeling, that's just a happy side effect, here and there. The Rosary was given to us by Heaven not so much for feeling good and having a little spiritual high, but to fight, to become spiritually disciplined, and increase in that discipline and grow in spiritual strength.

We get into the war aspects of the Rosary in the book. So here is an opportunity to delve deeply into the Rosary's mysteries, understand the story of the life of Jesus and Mary beyond the superficial, and come to appreciate this simple-yet-profound prayer, all the more.

  • 15 Years of Exposing Marxists Through 'The Vortex'

To make a donation of a different amount or with a different frequency, click here

    TRANSCRIPT

This Labor Day weekend marks the 15th anniversary of the Vortex, which means almost 4,000 individual episodes have been produced and aired and viewed tens of millions of times.

The very first episode aired this weekend in 2008 and focused on Oprah Winfrey and her ridiculous little guest Eckhart Tolle, who collectively have misled millions spiritually.

Originally, Vortex was not supposed to air until Jan. 1, 2009, but, because of the Obama campaign, we decided to pull it ahead a few months in hopes of influencing at least some Catholics to not vote for him. It was a good effort but obviously didn't stop Obama from getting elected.

At one point, considering Obama's lack of any real experience (or qualifications) to be president, I actually threw my hat in the ring as well. Throughout roughly the first eight or nine months of Vortex, we dedicated it to covering Obama and his slightly hidden anti-religion, anti-God agenda.

But in May 2009, it came home like a thunderbolt as the child-killer-in-chief strode across the stage at Notre Dame's commencement, and practically every bishop in America said nothing. Fewer than 90 out of more than 300 were content to remain silent in one of the greatest displays of shame in U.S. Catholic history.

The child-killer-in-chief strode across the stage at Notre Dame's commencement.

But for us, that was a turning point — a wake-up call that something was deeply wrong in the Church, and the bishops were the cause.

So we started focusing on bad bishops, their corruption — moral, financial, liturgical, doctrinal and so forth. Of course, they didn't like that and started operating behind the scenes, once we started shining the spotlight on them, to destroy us.

Our own archbishop here in Detroit, Allen Vigneron, who launched a great injustice against one of his very solid priests (and who hands in his resignation this October), pursued the path of pretending we couldn't use the name Catholic in our title, as in "RealCatholicTV."

For the record, that's not what happened (read the actual press release), but he and his henchmen in the Detroit chancery carefully worded the document in such a way to make it sound like that was what happened. It didn't.

Anyway, it turned out well because we changed the name to "Church Militant," and the rest is history.

Likewise, Abp. Charles Chaput came after us because he didn't like the idea that lay people criticize the evils of the hierarchy. He privately emailed me with some of the most condescending language I've ever received in response to our report and Vortex on how Saul Alinsky had been so influential in corrupting the hierarchy and helping start up the social justice apparatus of the Church.

When I responded to him that he was wrong and being high-handed, the very next day he called some diocesan TV stations who were airing our One True Faith programs (namely Fresno and Brooklyn) and ordered it off the air. They complied, of course.

That story should be a warning to everyone that just because a given bishop generally speaks orthodoxy, doesn't necessarily mean he's a stand-up guy. Not at all.

Many of these men, even the technically orthodox ones, can be petty and vindictive and steeped in pride.

And thus began the hierarchy's campaign against Church Militant.

It's gone so far because of the hard blows we deliver in Vortex, that multiple seminarians have told us that, while applying to various seminaries, they are asked if they follow Church Militant. That's a screen-them-out question.

As the years passed, with thousands of Vortex episodes being aired, we began to see the intimate connection between the bishops and politics (U.S. politics) and how the greed and desire for power of some has helped bring about the crash of the culture.

Of course, it takes two to tango, and what has become very apparent in the past seven or so years is that the Democratic Party, which is who the bishops favor and carry an agenda for, is actually the communist party in the United States.

As affairs, events and developments have unfolded in light of the Trump 2016 campaign, his subsequent presidency and the undermining of it by Obama holdovers, and the Biden administration's assaults against Catholics and political conservatives, it is now clear that too many of the bishops are in league with all this.

Such bishops are the greatest enemy to the U.S. republic that you never knew you had. Perhaps one could refer to the USCCB collectively as the "United States Conference of Communist Bishops."

The USCCB is beholden to the communist Democrats for billions of dollars in U.S. tax dollars.

Many members obviously have no supernatural faith — many actually reject the notion of the Deposit of Faith. Some have no regard for the Real Presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Faithless shepherds are awash in the blood of innocents, the unborn as well as tens of thousands of teenage male victims of the clerics that bishops have covered up for (and still do; see New Orleans' Abp. Aymond, for example).

Bishops have bankrupted going on three dozen dioceses to halt all lawsuits by the victims. They have stashed away billions in assets in their secret holdings like Catholic Mutual in Omaha. They are sitting atop vast fortunes in their diocesan endowments. They stole billions from the PPP funds at the beginning of COVID. The list of their crimes would make Hell blush with shame.

They have, in fact, overseen the greatest meltdown of the Faith in Church history. One out of every eight Americans walking around is a former Catholic.

A point, however, that is worth noting (very important): While some Catholics, more and more, are coming to know all this, most still don't.

The bishops have developed their own media apparatus to insulate them from the truth. You will never see a story in the mainstream Catholic media about the bishops getting billions from the U.S. government and using that money to foster illegal immigration. You will never see a story in the mainstream Catholic media highlighting any of these.

In fact, from sources inside those circles, we know they have been instructed to never even mention the name "Church Militant." That's likely a leftover directive from Abp. Chaput who, before his retirement, had managed to put his seal on that whole enterprise.

But whether he is the brains behind the campaign against CM or just one of its implementers, the reality remains. For 15 years and thousands and thousands of Vortex episodes, we have struck out at episcopal evil, complicity and cowardice, and they don't like it.

Many bishops bless James Martin (the homosexualist Jesuit undermining the Church's teaching at every turn), they endorse his books, allow him to speak practically anywhere, develop a social media following of hundreds of thousands, never denounce him, and yet Church Militant is labeled the enemy! Do seminaries ask potential recruits if they watch and listen to James Martin?

For the record, being viewed as the "enemy" by a group of communist bishops is actually a badge of honor. The Vortex's emphasis on politics and the link between the hierarchy and communism even got us publicly denounced, by name, in an official Vatican publication a few years back.

Church Militant has been in the vanguard really shaping the narrative on all this for years now. Actually, the tip of the spear.

Cooperation between Church leaders and communism is the single biggest threat to the Faith; meaning, at the end of the day, the damnation of millions — and it must be confronted and fought against.

Are you mad? Good. You should be. If you can't get mad about this, you aren't breathing. But what are you going to do about it? You need to commit to fighting it, being armed with information and spreading that information.

Information is king, which is why bad bishops and communists do everything they can to stymie information getting out.

Do seminaries ask potential recruits if they watch and listen to James Martin?

If you want an example of how your helping us makes a difference, look no further than last month's press conference in D.C., where we and our coalition partners shined a much-needed spotlight on the bishops aiding and abetting the collapse of America by getting billions in funding to undermine border security.

A month later, those efforts have produced more than 25 million impressions in social media through the reporting of political conservative outlets — 25 million impressions that would have not been there except for our labors.

Here's the big picture: The world today is in a battle between the forces of Catholicism versus communism, which is to say Catholicism versus atheism.

Communism, for all its evil and terror, is, at the end of the day, nothing more than a political system to end belief in God. Every other belief system on earth, every ideological view, is moving toward either one of those two poles.

Catholicism is of God. Atheism is out Satan. Everything else is just battles and wars and skirmishes in the great conflict. Which is not to say they are unimportant — quite the opposite. Wars are finally won by winning enough battles and seizing enough territory to plant your flag firmly atop the capitol.

But while the battles (some larger, some smaller) are being fought, you can never lose sight of the overriding war. That's what it's ultimately all about, which side gets to plant its flag.

Catholics historically just don't want to get involved.

War is exhausting. Battles wear you out. That's true of both sides. But the commies face far less opposition than the Catholic side does because Catholics and others of goodwill have simply been naive in their assessment of the reality.

Catholics historically just don't want to get involved, with the exception of the pro-life cause. And even there, it's not like enormous percentages of Catholics were involved. And when it came to voting, gigantic numbers still cast their votes for the child-killing communists.

Likewise, when it comes to charitable giving, Catholics are generally bringing up the rear compared to Protestants. Like Bp. Sheen said, "Catholics have all truth and no zeal." Why that is needs to be explored. But for the moment, let's just leave it where it is for this Vortex episode, and that is that communism has made such rapid and overpowering progress because most Catholics just don't care, or care enough.

The commies march on, with only an occasional setback. And when they do suffer that, they come back a hundred times more energized. Think what they did to Trump for four years. Yes, they got cocky and thought Hillary was the one. And when those final returns from Pennsylvania came in very late that night and Trump won, they were stunned.

For the record, Church Militant, live on the air, was the very first media outlet to call Trump the winner. What no one really knew then is that the weaponization of the nation's intelligence apparatus had already been installed by Obama. Quietly, he had replaced the heads of each department with his own Marxist types.

So instead of handing it over to Hillary to use against citizens, they had to backtrack and use it against a sitting president, making up total B.S. stories replayed in the Marxist media about collusion with Russia, leading to impeachment.

Yes, they had underestimated Trump, but they made sure it wouldn't happen again. So they dogged his presidency at every turn for four years and then installed their own executive, four years later.

Meanwhile, the hapless "Catholic" side did next to nothing, even to this day. Our natural allies still don't seem to get it, at least sufficiently.

    It isn't a war over politics. That's a battle.

    It isn't a war over abortion. That's a battle.

It isn't a war over sexual morality and drag shows and books in school libraries. Those are battles.

The war is spiritual; it's ideologically driven: those who accept God and authentic worship and religion versus those who do not.

The odds have never been stacked in favor of the God side. Ever. Never in human history. That's what happens when you begin with a fallen world as your starting point. From a strictly human standpoint, the war is lost before it even begins. They have all the cards.

But we have truth and the human mind is hardwired for truth. Some, many, in fact, reject it. But some will accept it and embrace it. Just as most did not get on Noah's Ark, some did. Ultimately, that's what Catholicism is. Noah's Ark, or, to update it, Peter's Ark or "Barque."

Most will perish in the floods. No doubt. That's why the ludicrous theological propaganda that we have a reasonable hope all men are saved is flat-out stupid.

Nowhere in human history has that ever been the case. And every Church Father agreed. Only heretics push that idiocy (see Protestant theologian Karl Barth, who stole it from the most condemned heretic in the history of the Church, the fourth century's Origen).

But while God brought an end to it all, as He will do again, he didn't tell Noah to do nothing — sit back, don't warn people, don't go find a hammer, nails and wood, to let the innocent animals drown.

It's completely clear from the actions of the Almighty, from Noah, to instructing the wine stewards in Cana, that He wants man actively involved in the work of salvation.

"Build the ark"; "Fill the jars with water"; "Go out and baptize all nations" — and on and on.

It's always been the same war, even if the circumstances and particulars vary from age to age. Human nature, fallen as it is, is trapped between the higher calling and struggle of God and the attraction to hedonism.

"The more things change," as they say. But there is a new wrinkle these days: communism, disguised, as it is, as globalism, socialism, the "new" gospel, love, freedom; all giving rise to an almost Christian complexion of care for the environment, the poor, the downtrodden.

Communism presents itself as the answer to being a victim, and there is no shortage of "victims" these days. And as all that is going on, Catholicism is painted as the enemy of the victim, the poor, the marginalized, the downtrodden. James Martin makes a living off doing that. Liberation theology based its entire existence on that.

The entire social justice apparatus of the United States Conference of Communist Bishops, grabbing billions of government money in the process, is based on all that. The truth is it's the Hitlerian big lie.

Communism is the oppressor, not the savior, of the world.

Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, while communism and all that goes with it is the true oppressor. And it is the big picture, for them, the big lie, that the commies never fail to advance. It's their lifeblood, the propaganda that they are the saviors of the little man.

We here at Church Militant fight like the dickens to expose that lie.

But we have truth and the human mind is hardwired for truth.

The communist Left is at it again. In case you missed it, the initial rollout of COVID-panic 2.0 is underway. Right here, in the dog days of summer, it's all being ginned up again, from masks to shots — just in time for election season.

The machinery is once again being uncovered, dusted off, oiled up and being put through the paces. That means two things: You are going to start hearing more and more about "the deadliest virus in the history of humanity" and censorship of "misinformation" along with the dramatic need to make sure that all of it is squashed — all in the name of preserving your health, of course.

Lionsgate movies tried mandating masks on their sets, quickly removing it after public backlash, claiming the so-called "outbreak is contained." A number of the Marxist colleges and universities are psyching up their moronic beta male and aggressive female student bodies as well.

Marxists are hell-bent on world domination.

The total ineffectiveness of masks and the enormous number of side effects from the last round of jabs are, of course, ignored and poo-pooed by the Marxist media. And when it becomes evident that it's all true, out come the "experts" to lie to you.

So a question for the U.S. bishops: Are they going to start with their Marxist go-along antics this time around as well? Masks at Mass. Yellow tape on every other pew. A football field between each of the congregants. Bathing in hand sanitizer instead of holy water. And, of course, all leading up to shutting down the parishes. You already know the answer.

These bishops who feed at the money trough of the Democrat Marxists are not going to bite the hand that fattens their coffers. Bishop-approved Biden — and yes, they approve of him — is already already gearing up to sign off on another jab.

It's all about power for commies — inside the Church as well as outside — and a commie Catholic in the Oval Office makes their job even easier.

The problem for too many faithful Catholics and political conservatives is they simply fail to recognize this, in and out of the Church. Marxists are hell-bent on world domination. Karl Marx made no bones about that. Antonio Gramsci, founder of the Italian Communist Party, made no bones about it, as well as publicly stating the need to destroy the Catholic Church to gain that dominance.

The communist parties in Europe (Poland, for example) as well as the United States set about to invade the Church's hierarchy, successfully. In South America, the KGB's creation of so-called Liberation Theology was successfully installed to wipe out Catholicism on that continent —mission largely accomplished.

And the destruction of the culture in the West, from the invasion of the U.S. government going as far back as at least the 1950s, has succeeded beyond anything the KGB and Joe Stalin might have ever dreamed.

Faithful Catholics and political conservatives either don't get all this or are just too busy trying to lead a "normal life" while the commies, in and out of the Church, are gobbling up huge chunks of cultural real estate. Soon, there won't be any place to live those "normal lives." The lack of willingness to recognize and fight against this is shocking.

And the underlying problem is an inability to intellectually accept that there are people out there — world leaders, industry leaders, Church leaders — who want you submissive, or dead. Period.

By analogy, almost no one goes past a playground, sees kids playing and starts plotting how they can snatch the weak one, molest him and then dispose of the body. But the reality is that there are people like that, and until you start thinking like that, getting in the minds of these monsters, it will continue happening.

It's one thing to accept in general terms that there is evil in the world and some bad people who do bad things. But it is entirely different to accept and then reorder your life around this truth.

Conservative Catholics and political conservatives have been unwilling to do this sufficiently, and as a result, the entire world is being ripped apart by communists, who have been very public for over a century that world domination is their goal.

When the Soviet Union fell, enormous numbers of us celebrated the fall of communism. Man, were we premature. The Soviet Union fell, yes. The host organism was killed. But the contagion of communism simply grew in other host countries that it had spread to from the Soviets.

Communism in the culture, and especially in the Church, is a deadly virus that is in sore need of a vaccine. That's what we need immunization against. Unfortunately, the commies are a century ahead of us, and it all began not with education, but first, it was just information.

Taking over the media and the university system followed after poisoning the world of information. For them, that was a hundred years ago. For us, that's where we are right now, just at the beginning. Who knows if we will ever make it to the end. They have an enormous head start.

Too few Catholics and political conservatives understand even the most rudimentary truths of all this. So there can never be a serious, well-thought-out plan to battle against it, to seize back what has been taken, by whatever means, if people just don't know all this.

Church Militant has been sounding the alarm on all this for years. In fact, in the world of Catholic media, no one has poured the time and resources into this work that we have. No one. Heck, while the liturgical wars rage in the Church, the commies advance.

The real reason the Catholic establishment hates Church Militant isn't because we shine a spotlight on the sexual abuse of teenage boys, their financial rot, the dominance of the James Martin types everywhere in the Church and so forth. No. The real reason they hate us is because we connect all those dots and more for you and point the finger straight at what it is: the collapse of the Church under modernism/Marxism that Pope St. Pius X warned about at the turn of the last century.

The Marxists in the Church are termites, billions of them, eating away at everything. No one termite does all the damage and makes the house collapse.

And to focus too narrowly on one thing — the Traditional Latin Mass or gay priests or the theft of billions from the laity or the cooperation with the destruction of the country or the wiping out of vocations or the destruction of religious orders or the blowing up of Catholic education, to zero in on just one of those — misses the big picture. And it is the big picture that the commies never take their eyes off.

We here at Church Militant highlight every one of those but also tie them all together for you, connect the dots like no one else does. That's why we are asking you to help us by signing up for our Dollar a Day Campaign, just $30 a month to keep this invaluable work going.

We chose to be in electronic media, the visual media, because we know that it is the single most important driver in the culture. That's why the Marxists raced to it to seize control. They understood its power. Hapless, bumbling Catholic leaders did not and largely still do not. Meanwhile, the Marxist march continues unabated.

The lack of willingness to recognize and fight against this is shocking.

  • Brazil's Cultural Transformation Under the Law

    TRANSCRIPT

In the largest Catholic country in the world, it is now officially against the law to utter an anti-homosexual slur. Yes — against the law.

Last week, Brazil's Supreme Court, in a 9–1 decision, handed down the ruling, building on a 2019 ruling that said discrimination against the alphabet gang constitutes "racism," therefore saying something against them constitutes a racial slur.

And just so you know, you can go to prison for two to five years for that crime now. If more than one of you say something, the sentence is doubled — so there goes any kind of rally, demonstration or so forth.

How it might apply inside a Church, during a homily, for example, is unclear.

When John Paul went to Brazil in 1980, more than 90% of Brazil was Catholic. This year, just 43 years later, it's now 50%. For the first time in centuries, Catholics are about to lose the majority status in what is still the largest Catholic country (in terms of population) in the world.

What took hundreds of years to build has been wiped out in two generations.

And when that happens, it's a guarantee that the natural moral law will be jettisoned and the political–cultural system will follow suit, producing rulings like last week's. All of this is a result of a communist plan launched almost a century ago to destroy the West by destroying the Catholic Church by destroying morals and what those morals protect — the family, society's basic building block.

Once families are no longer intact, individuals become dependent on the State, which serves to increase its power. Once that road is set upon, it's never going to end well because the State assumes the powers of God and abuses those powers.

Church Militant has been pounding, and will continue to pound, the theme of anti-communism because communism is ultimately godless tyranny. It is a system built on the belief that the State is God.

We've produced quite a few programs relating to this and have more planned, but in the meantime, we are happy to reach into our video vault and re-present to many of you who have not seen it this episode of Marian Moments where we review the message of Fatima and the urgency of Our Lady's call.

  • It's Not Like Faith and Religion Are Different

    TRANSCRIPT

There has been a horribly thought out — if you could even call it thinking — maxim floating around the culture for a couple of decades now. It's the pathetic statement, "I'm spiritual, not religious."

The viewpoint is so far beyond stupid it's hard to know where to even begin deconstructing those four words. The root of the problem is ignorance — some of it willful, some of the invincible kind. In the heavily estrogen-saturated culture in which we live, where everything is reduced to emotion, the term "spiritual" has had all its meaning drained from it.

It is so heavily colored by the feminine that it refers to nothing more than feelings. As in "how do you feel?" "follow your feelings," and so forth. What is the heart of the spiritual is completely unknown or ignored.

The spiritual is where the intellect and the will reside. Feelings have very little to do with intellect. Likewise, the will, while certainly influenced by emotions and feelings, is meant to be guided by the intellect.

The spiritual is incorrectly understood to apply to your feelings and nothing more. However, the duty of the spiritual is to participate in religion, the worship of God.

But in this day and age, since the understanding of the spiritual is corrupted, so too is the duty of religion.

The faith weaves into the culture! (Remember, the root word of culture is "cult" — how this all weaves together is one of the major themes we hammer on here at CM, the relevance of the Faith.)

Accordingly, we are happy to reach into our video vault and re-present to many of you who have not seen it this episode of Right Reason, where we treat this very issue.
