Nobody wants to be deceived.  Yet we live in an age where opinions are presented as truth and evidence to back up ones claims are rarely called upon.  Whatever you want to believe about anything goes.  Propaganda has taken over and blurred the line between reality and fiction.

However, the bible mentions an ancient community that had the antidote to such deception.  In a passage that is often overlooked we can find the solution to protecting ourselves from the many forms of propaganda we find ourselves bombarded with today.

There are 2 types of callings in the bible.  General and specific.  In the modern era, the idea of having a specific calling is one that is often over-spiritualized and abused.  It's not a get out of jail free card as some appear to use it for, but rather, it's pathway to take the gifts and passions we have and use them with freedom to imperfectly represent Jesus in the world today.

Joe breaks down this idea and provides a practical exercise you can do to begin to focus in on what specific calling God might have for you in this season of your life.

There is probably a good reason why few Christians get excited about the idea of discipleship.  But it's not just the religious that take issue with it.  Mentoring at any level is often something few engage in because most do not feel equipped to do it or are willing to make the commitment.

Joe shares his thoughts on how we tend to overcomplicate the idea of being an influencer and gives insight into how we can all enjoy investing in others when we make it a natural overflow of who we are and what we are already doing.  Discovering the needs of others and doing your best to meet those needs is the foundation of effective discipleship.
