Moses cannot enter the Promised Land. Some things in life are final. Some things cannot be changed. God shows Moses the Promised Land. Hope refuses to remain trapped in the past. Hope looks ahead. God gives hope even when something seems irreversible.

God knows Moses. Moses wants to know God's ways. Moses asks for proof of the presence of God. The proof of God's presence is the goodness of God. Who God is and what God does are absolutely consistent. God is merciful and compassionate. God's presence cannot be completely seen because God is holy. Moses sees that God will lead (Moses sees the back of God.) Moses and the Israelites can follow despite failures. God calls us to follow despite our failures.

Christian Action is God's love made visible. God's love is freely given to us. When we have developed a relationship with God and accepted His love, Christian action--service to others-- will flow out of that relationship. This message outlines steps to take toward Christian action.

The Israelites relied on other gods. People are prone to rely on that which is not God. Counterfeit gods crumble in the presence of God. The presence of God changes us.

Is the LORD among us or not? Why do people concentrate on negative rather than positive experiences? The Israelites complain in the face of loss. People forget God’s previous faithfulness. God provides in the wilderness. Water flowed from the rock. God prepares us for times of wilderness.

The Passover speaks of God and a new beginning for Israel. God loves family and wants all people to be free.

The name of God is mysterious. A name is to reflect the essence of a person. Who is God? God declares to Moses, “I Am Who I Am.” Jesus would answer the same when asked, “Who are you?”
