Three thousand people accepted the Good News of Jesus Christ after Peter delivered his first sermon! In this passage of Acts we find a description of the early church community. The believers were one in heart and mind and shared everything they had. We too as Christians are called to share with those who have little. Even the smallest acts of kindness can make someone else's day.

Storms come in life. There is change and chaos and calamity. Jesus has command over evil, chaos, and despair. We have a future with Jesus. Faith is required. We are together in the boat with Jesus. There is always a future with the Living Christ who cares deeply for the church.

God works in mysterious ways. God is often working in hidden ways to bring about what God wants. We are sometimes not even aware of what God is doing behind the obvious. The Kingdom of God can begin like a small seed but grow into an enormous plant. Growth happens beneath the surface. We should not dismiss what seems unimpressive. God has a way of bringing great results from the smallest of seeds.
