Dr. Angela Gorrell, professor, speaker, minister and teacher of the Life Worth Living journey, we focus on tools for building spiritual and emotional resilience by exploring key issues facing kids and teens today. 

Marshall Shaffer has been a parishioner at CHR since 2017 and is the congregation's newest vestry member. Away from church, he works as an associate director of paid social media at Ogilvy and freelances writing film criticism for various online publications.

Kathleen Mills has been a parishioner at CHR since 2018, when she moved to New York for her PhD studies in Immunology at Weill Cornell Graduate School/Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. At CHR, she currently serves on the vestry, is a member of the community care working group, and is a confirmation mentor. She plays the piano in her free time and loves to be outdoors with a book as much as possible.

Irene Preetha Prasannakumar is currently pursuing her PhD at Union Theological Seminary. A trained Montessori teacher, she has also completed her BA, MA, BD,  MTh, in India  and her STM at Union. She served as the Program Secretary at Student Christian Movement in India and have represented youth and women in many theological, ecclesial and ecumenical platforms. She was helping the Church of South India- Synod in the process of developing Child friendly Churches. She loves pastoral ministry and teaching.  Her goal for life is to make sure that love and justice prevails and that everything experiences fullness of life.

Caitlin Breen Thomas (she/her) has been a community member at Church of the Heavenly Rest since 2019. She is a mom, partner, friend, sober person, and small group leader. She loves music, being outdoors, food, comedy, and dancing. In her "day job" Caitlin works as a project manager for an international NGO. She lives in New York City with her spouse and their awesome kid.
