Fr. Jon Ziegler preaches about the eucharist, food, and sex (through the lens of John 6 and Genesis 2-3) with a little help from our E. Orthodox friend, Father Alexander Schmemann. Basically, how do we receive all of creation from the Creator--as something that is blessed and given for us to commune with God--and not just something that is ours for the taking. Is it possible that "earthly" and "physical" things like sex and food were not supposed to be ends in themselves--but meant as communion with God and meant to point us to him and to his love? What does it mean when Jesus says, "I am the bread of life, and the bread that I give FOR THE LIFE OF THE WORLD is my flesh."

It is Part 2 of a sermon preached on July 28--and it continues the story of David's sins of adultery and murder. On Sunday, August 4th--we broke with the series to preach a back-to-school message for our kids. So this sermon would normally have landed on that Sunday. 

Fr. Jon Ziegler shares a message about being on mission with Jesus wherever you are. It's "Incarnation Back-to-School Edition" on the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost. Jon talks about God's Big Story (the good news of his love for us), his Big Instruction (loving God and loving others), and then focuses on God's Big Mission (the mission to be God's authorized representatives in thew world).
