Paul talks about persecuted Christians giving financially “beyond their means.” This brings up an important question: Should Christians always run from suffering?

People can be difficult. It’s just a fact of how we’re made. Are relationships worth suffering for?

Can human beings change? We have no choice but to change. Whether or not we change is the wrong question. It’s what we change into that matters.

In this world of suffering, we walk by faith that God did not leave Jesus in the grave, and God does not leave us in our suffering. Rather, God has prepared a resurrected body for in heaven. This is what it means to walk by faith, and not by sight.

Is suffering idle time? Is it wasted time? Or is more going on when we encounter the “slight momentary afflictions” (2 Cor 4:17) of life?

What St. Paul suggests in 2 Corinthians is a heist. And you’ll never guess how he thinks we can pull it off.
