In our Easter Sunday message, we explore the first five chapters of Revelation as the resurrected Jesus gives us a big vision of His glory.

In our final sermon in 3 John, we anchor ourselves in verse 11 and see that in Christ we were made to imitate what is good, not what is evil. In Christ, we can now walk, partner in, and be known by the truth.

Role models play a powerful part in our lives. Who we choose to follow changes how we live both in this life and the life to come. In contrast to Diotrephes and his prideful pursuit of power, we are called to be a humble people because we have a humble Savior in Jesus.

Jesus fuels the mission of his church through the hospitality of his people.

As John begins his personal letter to Gaius, we see that one of the things that holds us back in our fellowship with each other is cynicism. Cynicism prevents us from being joyful when others walk in the truth. But because Jesus unifies His Church we can have joy when others walk in the truth.

Throughout the letters of John, he makes a repeated emphasis to guard against false teachers. We need warnings because we are prone to be deceived about who Jesus is and what he has done for us.

The fullness of the Christian life is seen when truth, love, and obedience combine. For John, the life of the Christian is marked by walking in love out of obedience to God.

Continuing his themes from 1 John, the apostle writes that truth and love are the foundation of the Christian life. We'll see the importance, permanence, and outworking of this foundation in the lives of God's people.

Idolatry is not something that our ancient forefathers struggled with, it is a very real and present struggle today. An idol is anything that we give our attention and affection to over Jesus Christ. The invitation in our final message from 1 John is that we find complete joy when we look to Jesus above all else.

Prayer can be a hard thing to have confidence in. Sometimes we feel like our prayers hit a ceiling, other times we see them getting answered. But in the final part of John's letter, he writes that Christians can pray with confidence knowing that God hears them.
