Come and behold Him—the One and the Only—as we open the Baptist Catechism's Question 51 and our Bibles to hear what the first commandment requires of us: to know and acknowledge the only true God as our God, then to worship and glorify Him accordingly. This lesson traces four inseparable duties—knowing God personally and relationally, openly confessing Him as the living and true God with no rivals, claiming Him as our own in full and joyful surrender, and offering Him the total response of the redeemed heart in the ways He has appointed, by the Spirit, through Christ, privately, in the family, publicly, and in all of life. Do we truly know Him? Have we acknowledged Him resolutely as ours? And is loving submission the daily posture of our worship to this uniquely Holy God?

The sermon explores the profound contrast between divine love and human preference for darkness, centered on John chapter three. It emphasizes that God's extravagant love led to the giving of His Son not to condemn, but to save those who believe. The message highlights a critical division in humanity based solely on belief or unbelief in Jesus Christ, noting that judgment is already present for those who reject this light. Furthermore, it explains that individuals often flee from the light because their evil deeds fear exposure, yet the invitation remains open for anyone to come to the light through grace. Christianity is not designed to be concealed. It is designed to be seen. Christ does not say, "you should become light." He says, "ye are the light." This is identity, not aspiration.
