Time to shed the grave clothes that have defined our past. The challenge is to write something on the piece of cloth given to each person as they enter and they leave behind something that needs to die. Take off those grave clothes and live.

Who is this man? He was a rebel with a cause to defeat anything that would come between his followers and their relationship with God. We look at Jesus making an entrance into the temple, flipping tables, and eliminating the things that would have been barriers to people not worshiping in a pure way. 

Jesus calls us to be a follower of our rabbi, not just a convert to ideas. Today's challenge is to cut through all the ideas that we believe we have converted to and make the decision to follow our rabbi and embrace his way of life.  

This week we look at what our role is as the church.

A combo sermon! Wrapping up the series on a focus on Scripture and the introduction to the book of Philemon! We will look at 4 questions to help us study/navigate the book of Philemon: 

Is there a sin to be aware of? 

Is there an example to follow?

Is there a command to obey? 

Is there something to know about God? 

Sunday's service will be a change of pace from our normal line-up of order. We will focus on the reading of scripture, anointing the church right where they are, inviting them into the journey of lent, and partaking of communion mixed with deep worship and prayer.

This is part 2 (or 3) of Meditating and Reading Scripture. This week's ending to the message will focus on meditating on Philippians 4 and the lead up will focus on Luke 24, the disciples walking on the road to Emmaus and Jesus reading them the scriptures.

Reading the Bible is just the beginning. We are all called to dive deeper into Scripture through the practices of meditation and study. Let's learn how to dive deeper together as a church.
