You can attend church, serve on a team, give generously, and still miss what it means to be devoted to fellowship. Most of us know we should pray, but if we're honest, we often spend more time thinking, worrying, and trying to figure things out on our own than we do actually talking with God. And sometimes, even when we want to pray, we aren't quite sure what to say or where to begin.

In Luke 11, the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, which is interesting because these were men who had been praying their entire lives. So what was it about the way Jesus prayed that made them realize there was something more to discover?

What does the Bible really say about money, possessions, generosity, and stewardship? In the final message of In His Image, Pastor Josh Hersey explores what it means to follow Jesus with everything God has entrusted to us. Through 1 Timothy 6, Psalm 24, Cain and Abel, the rich young ruler, and Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 6, we see that God is not asking us to reject the things we have. He is inviting us to make sure our possessions never have us. The shift from ownership to stewardship changes the way we view our money, resources, generosity, security, and ultimately our relationship with God.

Where our treasure goes, our heart follows. So what are we looking to money and possessions to provide that only Jesus can truly give? Comfort, recognition, experiences, influence, independence, security, pleasure, and control can all feel like life, but they cannot give us the life that is truly life. This message challenges us to live with open hands, trust God instead of our circumstances, and remember that everything we have is from Him, through Him, and for Him.
