In this message, we learn that the Holy Spirit will not only be in us and with us, but will also come upon us (Acts 1:8). When we yield to the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we are empowered for a purpose: to witness and point others to Jesus. We receive this manifestation of the Spirit by humbling ourselves and making room for God’s sovereignty. “‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty” (Zechariah 4:5-7).

God wants to show us the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:1-9). In this message, we are invited to surrender the limits we have placed on ourselves and allow the fullness of his grace to take us beyond them. We do this with the Holy Spirit, who leads us to experience the wonders of God’s grace in alignment with the truth of his goodness.

God commands us to not be afraid and promises to be with us (Joshua 1:9). In this message, we are urged to be led by the Spirit of Truth in confronting our fears and the deeper wounds behind them so we can walk in the fullness of God’s love. With the Spirit, we are equipped to face our giants courageously because we know God is with us.

God never intended for us to move through life alone, but to keep in step with the Spirit (Galatians 5:25). Jesus has called us to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow him (Luke 9:23). In this message, we learn that the way to do this is through the Holy Spirit, who is a person that dwells within us. He is risen! As we read Mark 16:1-8, we celebrate that Jesus’ resurrection was not the end of the story, but just the beginning. He has set us free to fill us with the same power that raised him from the dead and to proclaim that life has the final say. As his followers, sometimes we just need to embrace the mystery of faith and simply believe.

This week, we dive into 2 Corinthians 5:14-21, learning what it means to walk as true ambassadors of Christ. God’s design is to have his presence flow through us so that it touches the world around us. When we freely give away what he has given us, we begin to experience his freedom and truth more fully. He invites us to let go of fear and comfort, and to step forward into the light, knowing we are qualified by him.

As God’s royal priests, we have been given a vision from heaven to rebuild and are called to take our position as his representatives here on earth. In this message, we get a deeper understanding of the distinction between the lies of the accuser and the truth of the Holy Spirit who lives within us. When we obey the voice of our Advocate, we grow in spiritual maturity that enables us to lead others to walk in his light.

In this message, we read Isaiah 61 through the lens of Luke 4:14-20 to see how Jesus came not only to fulfill Scripture but to demonstrate his power. Like him, we have been anointed by the Spirit in order to display the splendour of the kingdom of God. By obediently walking with the Holy Spirit, we find our purpose, and we are empowered to rebuild, restore, and renew the world around us.
