  • "Beyond the Gift: Who Are You When the Music Stops?", Pastor Daniel Townsend- Season 3, Episode 21

You can move a room with your voice—but does that mean you’re connected to God?

Pastor Daniel Townsend gets candid with Ryan Dearbone about realizing his worship leadership had become performance. After walking offstage from a powerful service, he faced a question that challenged everything: If leading worship means sharing your prayer closet, what are you sharing when you don’t have one?

The Revive City Church pastor also opens up about living under a tree while walking to work, why he refuses to treat church members as his property, and how pastors can mistake someone’s next season for disloyalty.

From the pressure to look spiritually successful to the fear of letting people leave, this episode of Church With No Walls asks what happens when protecting the appearance of ministry gets in the way of actually serving people.

  • "Beyond Borders: Faith, Missions, and Loving the Nations" -Temaki Carr, Humanitarian/Minister: Season 3, Episode 20

In this episode of Church With No Walls, Ryan Dearbone sits down with Dr. Temaki Carr, a retired military veteran, minister, philanthropist, and humanitarian whose calling has taken her around the world.

Dr. Carr shares how her faith journey began at age 12 and how serving in Baghdad during the Iraq War became a defining moment in her call to ministry. She recounts a powerful experience of finding peace and trusting God’s protection even while under attack—an experience that transformed how she understood faith in the middle of danger.

The conversation explores what Christianity looks like across cultures and why believers must recognize that their own traditions aren't the standard for everyone. Dr. Carr explains how ministry requires meeting people where they are while recognizing that different cultures may worship and experience God in very different ways.

She also discusses Loving the Nations and the House of Dorcas, an initiative growing out of humanitarian work in Ghana, Pakistan, and Kenya. Through skills training, economic opportunities, education, and entrepreneurship, the effort seeks to empower women and girls and strengthen entire families and communities.

Most importantly, Dr. Carr reminds us that you don't have to be a theologian, missionary, or world traveler to make a difference. Sometimes God simply needs a willing vessel.
