  • Faith & Finance Live - Investing That Brings Joy

What if your investments could do more than grow your wealth? What if they could also be used to fight injustice, uplift your neighbor, and even bring joy to the world? Joy probably isn’t the first word that comes to mind when you think about investing, but maybe it should be. On the next Faith & Finance Live, Robin John will join Rob West to share how investing can be more than financial—it can be deeply spiritual. Then it’s on to your questions on different financial topics. That’s Faith & Finance Live, where biblical wisdom meets today’s finances, weekdays at 4pm Eastern/3pm Central on Moody Radio.

  • A Word With You - Good News for Our Grief - #10044

Years ago when I went on my first international ministry trip, I went just about as far as you can go - 10,000 miles to Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. I was going to be away for three weeks, which was the longest I had ever left my wife and our three young children. My wife mobilized the kids to put little love notes all over and all through my luggage. We had a nice meal together on the way to the airport and then some special hugs and kisses at the airport. But I did have to go. And I'm not kidding you, it was a sad moment. My wife was trying to look like she was fine. The children were obviously not looking fine. I managed to hold myself together until I rounded the bend in the concourse, then I started wiping tears from my eyes. It was hard, but one thing made it OK. It was only temporary. We would be reunited.

I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Good News for Our Grief."

Life's partings are tough when someone we love slips into eternity. Death rips us up inside, and the grief is sometimes almost unbearable. But because of Jesus, it's almost unbearable. I know, because I was the one several years ago burying the woman I loved - almost unbearable. Why almost? Well, I belong to Jesus, and my honey did, so that's not the termination of our relationship. No, because of Christ, it's just an interruption. I'm so glad.

God describes this hope in our hurtingest times in our word for today from the Word of God in 1 Thessalonians 4, beginning in verse 13. "We do not want you to grieve like the rest of men who have no hope. For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command and the dead in Christ will rise first." That's my Dad. That's my baby brother whose death brought our family to Christ. That's my grandparents. It's more and more of my friends and the woman I loved for a lifetime.

The Bible goes on to say, "After that, we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so will we be with the Lord forever." Wow! When Jesus walked out of His grave, He conquered death for all those who would ever give their lives to Him. It doesn't mean our heart won't stop some day in this earth-suit called our body, it will die. But it means the real you, your soul, will go on forever uninterrupted in God's great Heaven.

Is it any wonder the Bible says, "Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory?" (1 Corinthians 15:54-55). You may be struggling with the loss of someone you love. I think I get that. The pain is very real. Death was never meant to be part of our lives. Sin brought in death. But Jesus died to pay the death penalty for our sin, and then, on Easter morning, He beat this monster that has beaten every person who ever lived.

So now, because of Jesus, the very worst death can be for a believer is an interruption of the relationship, never a termination. Hallelujah! And if you've never put your total trust in Jesus Christ to be your Savior from your sin and its death penalty, please don't risk another day without Him.

Would you tell Him, "Jesus, your death on the cross was to pay for my sin. It is my only hope of heaven. And the fact that You walked out of your grave proves that You can give eternal life that no one else can give. I'm Yours, Jesus, beginning today." If you're at that point where you want to begin that relationship and have that assurance, this is your day to check out our website and the information there that will help you know you've got this settled. The website is ANewStory.com.

That day of my long trip...the pain, the tears were real. As they are on a much deeper level when someone we love is leaving us for eternity. But you can handle the leaving if you know what I knew that day at th

  • Our Daily Bread Podcast | Our Daily Bread - God Is There

When my grandmother was gently informed that my grandpa would likely pass on in the next few days, we were concerned that she’d be upset and anxious. “Are you worried?” someone asked her, thinking that she might have questions about her husband’s physical condition or need help for her own needs. She thought for a moment. “No,” she calmly answered, “I know where he’s going. God is there with him.”

Her expression of God’s presence with her husband echoes a similar one made by the psalmist David in Psalm 139:8: “If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.”

Although the certainty of God’s presence in Psalm 139 carries a subtle warning that we can’t escape His Spirit no matter where we go, it also brings great comfort to those who love Him and desire the assurance of His presence: “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence” (v. 7). As God’s redeemed people, we can be consoled that no matter where we are, He’s there guiding us and holding us in His hand (v. 10).

When we go through tough, worrisome situations and don’t feel that God is with us, we can be assured that He’s present with all those whom He loves and who love Him. May this knowledge of His certain presence bring you the comfort and hope you need today.

  • Wretched Radio with Todd Friel - THINK YOU’RE IGNORING GOD? YOUR CONSCIENCE TESTIFIES AGAINST YOU

    It’s Witness Wednesday!

In this episode of Wretched Radio’s Witness Wednesday, Todd engages in philosophical and theological conversations with several Georgia Tech students about their beliefs and life’s purpose. Todd speaks with Orin, a 22-year-old mechanical engineering student who shares his thoughts on Christianity and his own faith journey. Next, Todd talks with a French aerospace engineering student, who identifies as an atheist, discussing the complexity of belief systems and the concept of truth. Todd then converses with a student reading Malcolm Gladwell’s ‘The Tipping Point’ and delves into how Christianity can be seen as a tipping point in human history. Lastly, Todd encounters a student who is rushing to the library. Throughout the episode, Todd uses analogies and thought experiments to explore the students’ perspectives on God, morality, and the afterlife.

    Segment 1:

    • Orin, a 7th-generation namesake and mechanical engineer, admits he’s unsure of his life’s purpose despite claiming Christianity.

    • Todd challenges Orin’s postmodern thinking, showing that “truth is truth,” not “truth for you.”

    • Orin claims faith but wrestles with whether Jesus is his greatest priority, revealing the difference between “believing” and being born again.

    Segment 2:

    • A French aerospace student admits he might believe in “a creator” but rejects organized religion and says no religion is true.

    • Todd uses design arguments and conscience to show him that God is both Creator and judge, requiring a payment for sin.

    • The student listens thoughtfully as Todd explains Christianity as “done for you” vs. “do more religion,” leaving him with the gospel.

    Segment 3:

    • A Christian student reading The Tipping Point agrees Jesus is the tipping point of history but struggles to articulate why Jesus alone is the way to God.

    • Todd presses him on gospel clarity: salvation is by repentance and faith, not works, and clarifies the true cost of following Christ.

    • The student recognizes the need for obedience flowing from salvation, not causing it, reinforcing gospel precision for listeners.

    Segment 4:

    • A student agrees design implies a designer but questions “Who made God?” and struggles with God’s justice vs. man’s morals.

    • Todd uses the conscience test (lying, lust, blasphemy) to show him his guilt before a holy God.

    • Despite acknowledging the gospel, the student chooses his “own beliefs” over Christ, illustrating the tragic yet common rejection of grace.

  • THE INDOUBT SHOW - How To Make Your FAITH Your Own, NOT Your Parents’ w/ Matt Bender

What does it really mean to make your faith your own—and not just inherit it from your parents or your church culture? In this episode, guest host Luke Friesen sits down with young adults pastor Matt Bender to talk about the real struggles of owning your faith in today’s world. From deconstruction to doubt, bad church experiences, and spiritual burnout, Matt speaks honestly about how to navigate the tension between tradition and transformation. They unpack why some young people walk away, how false teaching can contribute to that, and why Jesus is still compelling when you meet Him on His terms—not just your preferences. Whether you're questioning everything or trying to grow deeper, this conversation will help you rethink faith, identity, and what it means to follow Jesus for yourself.

  • Back to the Bible Canada with Dr. John Neufeld - Living the Moral Life: A Practical Application for Every Generation: Practicing Justice

Real justice starts with knowing right from wrong. In this message, Dr. John looks at God's laws for Israel in Deuteronomy 16-17, showing why God demanded exclusive worship from His chosen people. He explains why mixing other beliefs with faith in God is dangerous, why we should give God our best, and how honoring God is the foundation for a just society.

Living the Moral Life: A Practical Application for Every Generation: Morality cannot be reduced to a bumper sticker. Neither is it the sum total of our debates, campaigns or banners. Morality is presented by how we live. The book of Deuteronomy is a second presentation of God’s Law. It contains three sermons by Moses, as Israel stands on the border of the Promised Land. In this series, Dr. John highlights chapters 12- 17 in which Moses emphasizes living out God’s commands for a moral life. Why should we listen? Because living a moral life speaks louder than any bumper sticker.
