This podcast had me hungry for salted caramel without all the calories from the first Sumo Squat. Cian Dawson along with her  Boyfriend/Business Partner Courtney, started their Dessert Brand GYM BOD 3 years ago while living in Toowoomba QLD for work.

GYM BOD ( aka Better Option Desserts) creates Better-For-You options to your childhood favourite sweet treats. Their business was born from the desire to eat Ice Cream every day and not undo their hard work in the gym. Cian manages the Operations of GYM BOD from their 1 bedroom apartment in Sydney after-hours from her Day Job.

Cian and I whip the protein on how they kicked off their lean start up with a $99 ice-cream maker after consuming tasty protein shakes late into the night studying. We chat about how the old age art of door knocking, that  persistence and rejection are all learning opportunities and taking on board feedback is critical in order to pivot quickly.

We also chat about how Cian and Courtney spent their weekends offering free samples to F45 revellers in the hope of tapping into an avid gym goer audience who didn’t want to undo al their hard work also, and it worked!
