As we begin this series of teachings around the epic collision of Heaven and Earth when Christ was born, Paul shares the historical set up that took place when Christ was born leading up to His death. At just the right time, Christ died for the ungodly because at just the right time, Christ was born to save the world.

Christians are the salt of the earth and the light of the world but when we allow ourselves to be seduced by the alluring voices of culture and the appeal of what is popular, we are aligning ourselves with secular philosophies and ideologies instead of the timeless truth of God’s Word. The wisdom required to successfully navigate an unholy culture demands a passionate relationship with Jesus, a deep devotion to God’s word and constant prayer.

Holiness is the call for those who follow Christ, to be different from all those around you who adopt a life defined by their unholy culture. Holiness requires a courageous faith in God’s way of living and refuses to be intimidated by those who mock it.

Every part of culture has something spiritual about it. We must understand the powerful influence culture has on our life and recognize that God and Satan are in a war...and they are fighting over YOU, and your eternal destiny.

In a world that seems more divisive than ever before, how should we react when our opinion is different from others? What does living a holy life in an unholy culture look like? Paul introduces this new series with helping us to understand that God has an enemy, the perpetrator of all things evil, and that enemy has a very vocal advocate, called culture.

As we wrap up our series all around celebrating 25 years of faithfulness, Paul reminds us of the mission we have as a church to be a people who pursue those that are lost, love each other well, and help others as Jesus helped us.

Imagine if every single Christ-follower at Cibolo Creek was intentionally, consistently, eagerly, sincerely, and prayerfully nurturing a relationship with one person who did not know Jesus as their Savior? In this weeks message, we learn that we are never more like Jesus than when we serve others and that as a church, we are a close-knit family committed to helping others like Jesus helped us.

As we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of our church, Paul reminds us of the mission and vision of our church to be a community of people who gather together around Jesus and chase after those in our life who do not know Him. We are also joined by previous Cibolo Creek worship leaders as we celebrate BIG all God has done in the history of our church.
