You know those board games that when you look at the cover or you play it and you say to yourself "this is totally supposed to be (insert movie/show/book): The Board Game" but the publishers/designers couldn't get the rights? Well that's what we're talking about in this episode of CineGamer, IP Adjacent games! Joining Jason and Rob is their friend and frequent name that gets mentioned in every episode Toby as they talk about several games that probably wouldn't normally be talked about on this show but are so good they needed to!

It's October so it's time for some SPOOOOOOKY games! Jason and Rob first talk about a 1-2 player game based on the popular horror video game Five Nights At Freddy's (which apparently has 11 sequels to it). Then they finally, FINALLY, FINALLY talk about their most anticipated Kickstarter game They Live: Assault On Cable 54 and one of them was disappointed and one of them liked it. 

It was about damn time we do a top 10 list and well let's get basic with it! Rob and Jason count down their favorite IP games! You probably already know what's gonna be on the list but still give it a listen for the stuff you DON'T know that'll be on the list! Ah-HA!

They talk about what IP related games they've seen, played, and bought along with other non-IP games. Then they recount their adventures during the con itself. Jason and Rob are back! They're here to tell you about The Reckoners, a co-op game based on a series of young adult novels. You play as a special agent who's tasked to kill every superhero in town before they destroy the world. Sounds simple, right? WRONG! It's hard as hell but is it fun? 

Jason and Rob are back for your monthly treat! In this episode, they dive into the H.P Lovecraft world of board games and discuss three major Fantasy Flight titles: Arkham Horror both second and third editions, Eldritch Horror, and Arkham Horror: The Card Game. 

Jason and Rob are back to catch you up on some news about games based on movies, mainly by Funko, before moving on to their main discussion, the highly thematic Fantasy Flight/Wiz Kids game Fury of Dracula, a hidden movement 1-v-all game that's in Jason's top 10 favorite games of all times. But will it make Rob's? 

To change things up a bit, Jason and Rob decide to cover a movie, 2018's Game Night, which is a film about board gamers. They dive into the plot and the pros and cons of it featuring mainstream games vs the games "actual" gamers would play. 

Then they switch gears and discuss Disney's Villainous and it's various expansions, talking about the future of the game and other classic villains they could use and sort of reluctantly discuss the Marvel version. (Jason was trying to save it for another episode since it's a bit different, but it kept coming up.)

It's the MOST wonderful TIME of the year!!! When people get to argue whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie (it is!) and people try to avoid Wham!'s Last Christmas and listen to Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You on repeat. So Jason and Rob are going to take on TWO games based on Christmas movies (told you Die Hard is a Christmas movie) and try to bring some cheer over the holidays!

Nope. They go into extreme nerdy detail over Doctor Who...oh I see. It's the BOARD GAME Doctor Who: Time of the Daleks! From Gale Force Nine. And not only do they go over how it plays and their thoughts on the game and if you need to be a fan of the show to play it, they theorize what it'd be like if Doctor Who ever shows up in Boston. No offense to any Bostonians who might be listening.
