As promised...THE BONUS EP! So this is something the Wifey and I recorded back in....March or April? and we have been waiting for the right time to share. I wanted to make sure Cinema Buns was up and running first, but now that we have 101 likes on our facebook (!!!!AHHHHH!!!) we are feeling like celebrating!! Also, this is an apology for the audio oopsie last episode.

Movie recs for whatever you're going thru! We asked four women what movies they'd pick for the Inside Out Challenge (Movies for Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger), and this is our second week of responses. Last week we talked to Stephanie and Alicia in Cali, and this week it's Lynn in Fl and Kate in Co.

Movie recs for when you're feeling any certain way! I came up with the Inside Out challenge to provide options for movies we can all pop in when we are having certain feelings.

😁Joy: a happy time movie that makes you leap around to think about. Your pick me up flick that brings smiles every viewing.

😭Sadness:  movies that you watch and know will make you cry. We all need a  melancholy, feelingsy afternoon once in a while sipping tea and watching  the rain. These movies are there to be a cathartic release when needed.

😳Fear: scary movies help us get a good rush of spooky without the fear of real danger.

=( Disgust:  movies to stay away from! Sometimes an anti-recommendation helps just  as much as suggestions of what to watch. Maybe these films were  overhyped, or the trailer promised something it didn’t deliver.

😡Anger:  a little righteous anger helps change the world. These movies rile you  up about a cause, and help educate us on topics we were previously  unaware of. Could be a good documentary, or a historical film that sheds  light on an issue that lights a passion in you.

I know there's a whole new wave of y'all flocking to musicals right meow(thanks Hamilton), and maybe you're looking for something that'll fit you better than your mama's "Oklahoma". Personally, I grew up on Rodgers and Hammerstein, Fosse, Sondheim, Webber, and all dem "classics", but I know those turned a lot of people away from musicals.

"Oh but the book was soooo much better!"-overheard leaving any movie adaptation of every book.

We lurved the Hulu original movie Palm Springs (2020), and we had a lert to discuss about it! I hope y'all got the heads up last week on our facebook to watch it before today's episode dropped. If not, follow Cinema Buns on facebook to stay in the know. Did y'all enjoy the movie? What do you think about the moral quandaries presented in the film? Did they set them up and handle them well? I strongly rec this film if you like non traditional romance/comedies with one fantasy element...which is my actual fav type of film! Think Wristcutters, Safety Not Guaranteed, About Time, etc.

We're talking Movie Mood Killers today! Molly is back to chat with me about things we find that totally  pull us from a scene. What are your big distractions that pull you from the moment? My biggest has to be when actors don't interact well with a prop, or forget to close a door!

Our first ever 3 person episode! Two Sci-Fi loving Sisters join us this week to discuss Joss Whedon's TV series Firefly, and the following movie, Serenity. A Lot of my love for the show came from hearing how much these sisters enjoyed it growing up. When Kim told me she was naming her baby Mal, I knew the show was in need of a rewatch! After catching up on the series, and the film, I decided to make this the first of a Cinema Buns series, "Does it Hold up?". Thank you ladies for digging into the show with me! You have great perspectives, and are fun people to talk to. I enjoyed this a ton, and I hope everyone listening enjoys! Meow
