It’s June 27, 2003. Writer, director, producer and actor Tommy Wiseau releases his masterpiece, the Room, unto the world. By 2010, “the Citizen Kane of bad movies” is a cult phenomenon. In 2013, a novel by the name of the Disaster Artist, written by actor Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell, is released, detailing the making of the film, which is just as fascinating as the film itself. Now, a film based on the novel about the making of the Room, also called the Disaster Artist (James Franco, 2017) is released. We discuss all three: the Room, the novel, and the latest film, the Disaster Artist.
