Welcome back to Cinema Decon. As our loyal listeners know, we’ve been on a bit of a hiatus lately. Your hosts have been navigating the real world scheduling challenges of work, family and even a national broadway tour. Check out our socials for those details. But good news though! We are coming together soon to bring you a new batch of Cinema Decon reviews and we thank you all for sticking by us.

For this episode, we’re bringing back an old favorite that some listeners may have missed. It is our 4th episode, where the nerves had faded and we started to really have fun with the show.

So anyway, check out this re-release of our review of the 2001 cult classic Wet Hot American Summer, and be on the lookout for more Cinema Decon coming soon.

Movie Review, Analysis, and Deconstruction

Let’s set the stage.
In 2001, Wet Hot American Summer brought absurdist comedy to the summer camp genre with a star-studded cast including Janeane Garofalo, Paul Rudd, and Amy Poehler. Equal parts satire, nostalgia, and chaos, the film became a cult favorite. But does its over-the-top humor still land, or has it aged into pure camp?

Movie Details
 Title: Wet Hot American Summer
 Release Year: 2001
 Directed by: David Wain
Starring: Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler
