Sicario was released to Limited Screenings in September of 2015, a Neo Western scripted by Taylor Sheridan and directed by Dennis Villenueve with Roger Deakins helming the Cinematography. We discuss if the film kept its strong impression from when we first remembered? Or was it just really pretty for us to see because of ol’ Deakins? Released in August of 2015 Straight Outta Compton is the Musical Biopic that we were all rooting for to be successful as they are a Southern California Rap Group that drastically changed the West Coast sound and Music in general. Growing up listening to N.W.A. We were all excited to rewatch this and discuss how this film's message still resonates in today's social climate of 2021. Son of Saul was released June of 2015, Hungarian filmmaker Laszlo Nemmes brings to the screen a powerful vision of a historical period piece about the lives of Sonderkommandos serving at one of Auschwitz crematorium during WW2. Alonso recommended this film and we as a full panel bring our first impressions of the film as a podcast.
