Cinema Trip Reviews

This week on the show I am talking about the controversial 1984 film Silent Night, Deadly Night. This was my first time seeing the film so I have a lot of thoughts!

Little Billy witnesses his parents getting killed by Santa after being warned by his senile grandpa that Santa punishes those who are naughty. Now Billy is 18 and out of the orphanage, and he has just become Santa himself.

This week Alex is joining me once again to talk about the classic Thanksgiving road trip movie Planes, Trains, and Automobiles starring Steve Martin and John Candy.

Neal Page is somewhat of a control freak that's trying to get home to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with his wife and kids, his flight is rerouted to a distant city in Kansas because of a freak snowstorm, and his sanity begins to fray. Worse yet, he is forced to bunk up with talkative Del Griffith, whom he finds extremely annoying. Together they must overcome the insanity of holiday travel to reach their intended destination.

This week I finally got around to watching A24's MEN, a rare miss for the studio that I can't wait to never talk about again.

Harper retreats to the countryside to be alone in the wake of a tragedy, but her unease at the town's leering and uncannily similar men grows into a fully fledged nightmare as her arrival awakens something primal in the forest.

The final chapter of the David Gordon Green Halloween trilogy has been released and it has once again split the fanbase. This week Alex and I dive in and break down Halloween Ends to see why it may be the most divisive movie of the year.

Four years after her last encounter with masked killer Michael Myers, Laurie Strode is living with her granddaughter and trying to finish her memoir. Myers hasn't been seen since, and Laurie finally decides to liberate herself from rage and fear and embrace life. However, when a young man stands accused of murdering a boy that he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that forces Laurie to confront the evil she can't control.
