  • Love Actually | Review

Hey! Part III of our Christmas Series looks at another classic from the early 2000s: Love Actually. It's from the writer/director of Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, and Bridget Jones, so you kinda know what to expect. It's somehow narratively ambitious and cliched. Sean and I have diverging opinions.

To pair, we enjoy some delicious Spanish Albariño.

Hey everyone! Like just about everybody, we're saddened by the sudden and violent passing of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele. We were big fans of his on this podcast, as we covered five of his movies.

Hey everyone! Part Four of our Halloween Series features a newish film from an acclaimed director: Benicio del Toro's Crimson Peak. This atmospheric thriller features Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowski, and Jessica Chastain. It's set in Victorian England, so the visuals are absolutely incredible.

As for the story and suspense, well...we have opinions. Enjoy!

  • Over the Garden Wall is a Hidden Gem | Review

Welcome! Our Halloween Series continues with Over the Garden Wall. I had never seen it, and knew nothing about it. That makes this episode a pleasant surprise.

Patrick McHale's animated gem is a Halloween cult classic. It's whimsical, eccentric, and endearingly funny. Plus, it's not terribly scary--call it a soft PG. That means kids as young as 8ish could enjoy it as well.

Hopefully you'll check it out before Halloween, before it goes away on Hulu!
