  • Episode 109: Blonde
We tackle one of the most polarizing films of the year for our featured review this episode: Andrew Dominik’s “Blonde”. It’s a fictionalized interpretation of the life and career of Marilyn Monroe, but does it go too far? And will the woke mob be coming for us, and/or cumming with us? Let’s just say Matt and Travis don’t see eye to eye on this one.

We're back! Travis has returned from his honeymoon in Europe and Matt has escaped the hellscape that is Florida, and both are safely back in Washington. Time to talk movies. Seeing as how it's been awhile (Staind voice), we decided it would be a good idea to catch up with new releases. Enjoy this roundup episode of the 2022 movies we've seen since you last heard from us. Expect more regularly scheduled content in the feed now that the craziness has passed. Enjoy!

  • Episode 107: Nope and Prey
We’ve got two featured reviews this episode! Haven’t had one of these in awhile. This episode is just the dynamic duo of Matt and Travis. There have only been a few of these in the whole 5+ year history of the show, and these are always HUGE. We hope you enjoy our deep-dive reviews of Jordan Peele’s “Nope” and the latest installment in the Predator franchise, “Prey”. Heads up, the podcast feed will be quiet for the next month or so. Matt is moving back to Washington state, and Travis will be spending two weeks in Europe for his honeymoon! Thank you so much to the listeners, and we appreciate your patience. We will get back on a regular schedule in Q4 2022. Calendar, not fiscal. Fuck capitalism, eat the rich.

  • Episode 106: DFL Top 10 of 2016 Draft
We’ve got something a little different for y’all this time around. In place of our normal review format, we decided to start a new, hopefully recurring feature. Now those familiar with the podcast know that we love drafts around here. So much so that we have created an official league for the events, henceforth known as the Digest Film League. Special guest Paris joins hosts Matt and Travis for the inaugural draft, which covers the film year of 2016! Diehards will remember our very first episode ever was a Top 10 of that very year. Full credit to the podcast Screen Drafts for the inspiration for the feature. Hope you enjoy!
EDITOR’S NOTE: You will hear us state at the start of the episode that the featured review is David Cronenberg’s “Crimes of the Future”. As you’ll find out, the draft took WAY longer than anticipated so by the end we decide to axe the review altogether. Sorry!

If you want to follow along with the podcast, next time out we’re going to be watching two contemporary zombie flicks.
