About Talk: "What does 'Without worship we shrink?' mean, and why worship anything beyond gratitude?" We are made to worship. "Without worship we shrink" is a description not a prescription. When were you last aware of being fully connected, awed, or delighted? That was a moment in need of naming. Worship is about naming and remembering. We say "thank you," but it's more about the you-ing than the thanking. Gratitude TO God is the worship that stops our shrinking. Our connection to God in all things through Christ is what makes us big, demanding that centrality from ourselves makes us small, it shrinks us.
