About Talk: We’re moving out with the Holy Spirit where we are inspired. The prayer the believers pray after John and Peter are released from prison in Acts 4 demonstrates three things for our prayer in the face of our fear 1) They were making something new 2) They were making something new together 3) they were making something new together that reminded them of who God is and who they are. We can follow them in this generative, connected, personal prayer. The Bible is about real people a lot like us. Our fear and opposition is different but no less real.

About Talk: The concept of Sabbath was about trusting God to sustain life so people could rest, play, and worship. It was a good idea, but the Hebrews could never really stick to it for all the reasons that people struggle to do it now: fear of not having enough, trying to control things, and blind ambition. God relentlessly loved and pursued them anyway. Now the complete work and presence of Jesus makes real rest possible, and it’s still connected to the heart issue of trust in God to provide for our deepest needs.
