(Gunfire lockdown drills in our schools right now are one example.) The chaos of the world can easily trigger our already fearful hearts and wounded minds. Our own failure, shame and blame has a very limiting effect on our understanding of reality. How do we turn around (metanoia) and see our present from the future that is coming in? Jesus-followers are the presence of hope-filled, glorious future that restores heaven and earth. We are called to live in that kingdom now. Lent is an opportunity to have our minds transformed to live in reality with Jesus.
