On this episode of the Circular Food Podcast, Laura Brown, Director of Nutrition for Kroger Health, talks through her nutrition expertise while sharing how Kroger Health is developing programs for all of their customers to use in-stores and online. Remember, nutritionists are not the food police! But instead they are there to help you make incremental changes that lead to more sustainable outcomes over time.
We're thrilled to release our next Circular Food Podcast highlighting our partnership with 80 Acres Farms as part of our mission to coordinate circular food systems in neighborhoods and cities. While both organizations are passionate about sustainable agriculture, we each bring unique strengths to serve our communities. Renee Camplese, Head of Commercial Special Projects, did a great job speaking to their growing global expertise and how it will impact our local food systems and communities.
The Urban Farming Initiative focuses on coordinating comprehensive food systems - from growing and processing to distribution and recycling - to create lasting positive impact in neighborhoods. Through our circular food system approach, we connect community gardens, local partners, and buyers to build self-sustaining regional food networks.
80 Acres Farms complements this mission with their expertise in controlled environment agriculture (CEA). Together, we're working to integrate advanced growing techniques into broader community food systems, making fresh, locally-grown produce more accessible while creating workforce development opportunities that strengthen our neighborhoods
The Circular Food Podcast welcomes Cincinnati City Councilwoman Anna Albi to the show to discuss her plans to tackle gun violence by reducing food insecurity in our neighborhoods. She discusses the Impact Award for 2026, which the Urban Farming Initiative will be an applicant. Listen as we dive into stats, food, and all kinds of topics!
