Our group will be diving into the world of whaling policies and speaking about how they affect the circumpolar indigenous people. UN policies and their effects on the Chukchi will be discussed, as well as the Chukchi use of the whale and their rituals and traditions regarding the whale.

This episode discusses the traditional aspects of how Sami parents teach their children. Additionally it covers the residential school experience and modern attempts to restore Sami language and culture through government schools in Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
