Because The Reel Whirled is a legitimate and respectable show that can be used on a marketing campiang, Dora and Dama are joined by Melanie Jones whose amaaaazing film FSM is screening on Saturday, April 16th and Monday, April 18th (because we are 100% professional you can check out our Facebook page to win free tickets that were granted to us by an equally professional marketing manager because we are all professionals). We talk about the film, Melanie's artistic and personal backgrounds, and dating in Vancouver (because we are qualified) and feature one of the songs on FSM's dopee album: WILD by Vancouver based pop artist ROYAL.

Dora and Dama interview Vancouver-based director and animator Kaho Yoshida about her new short film, Michi, which is screening in the Reel2Real Festival. We discuss Kaho's love for stop-motion animation and explore how her experience as an immigrant impacted her work. It's also the first time we have a phone interview with a director, so we're very excited!

It's the end of the semester and Film Soc's screenings are coming to a close :( :(

Based on the finale programming, Dama and Dora discuss the genre that is cop movies. We talk about the twists and turns of the genre and everything it has to offer.

We also do a truly beautiful recap of Film Soc's 2015-2016 year and get super pumped for whatever comes next. Kind of like cops but also not really.

Dora and Dama are joined by the wickedly talented Erik Coates, President of CiTR Student Exec and host of A Face for Radio (Thursdays 10-11AM), to talk about musical film. We discuss how the genre has impacted film as a medium, its evolution, and our fav musicals because we enjoy frivolity.

Spiderman, Superman, Batman, and more men are all passionately discussed to combat the elusive forces suppressing and creating superhero and comic-book culture.

With the Oscars having just done the do, Dama and Dora bring in film production students and Film Soc execs Andy and everyone's favorite returning guest, Mike, to talk about their favorite Oscar movies. Action, drama, comedy, we bring it all in our Oscars extravanganza - if you consider four people in a studio to be these things, cause we do!
