I.What is Healing?

Luke 13:32 Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures (iasis) today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

Luke 9:11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed him; and he received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing (therapeia)

Acts 10:38 God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing (iaomai) all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

II. What are Miracles?

III. God’s Purpose for Miracles, signs and wonders

John 10:37-38 If I do not do the works of my father, do not believe me; but if I do, though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the father is in me, and I in him.

Mark 8:23 so he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And he spit on his eyes and put his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything

1 Thessalonians 1:5 For when we brought you the Good news, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true..

Matthew 24:14 and the Good news about the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.

Mark 16:20 and they went out everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs

Acts 4:33 and with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.

Habakkuk 2:14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that power had gone out of him, turned around in the crowd and said, who touched my clothes?

How the Manifest Glory Operates

1. The Will of God

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, if anyone loves me, he will keep my word; and my father will love him and make my home with him.

2. God’s Sovereignty

Ecclesiastes 8:3 Do not be hasty to go from his presence. Do not take your stand for an evil thing, for he does whatever pleases him.

3. Obedience to what God has Ordained

1 Samuel 13:14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for himself a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over his people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.

4. Worship

2 Samuel 6:14-15 Then David danced with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

Psalms 63:1-2 O God, you are my God; early will I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I looked for you in the sanctuary, to see your power and your glory.

The Glory of God

Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man, became a living being.

1. God appeared to Abraham

Acts 7:2 The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran.

2. God manifested his Glory to Israel

Exodus 13:21 and the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.

2 Chronicles 5:13-14 indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying: for he is good, for his mercy endures forever, that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.

3. God Revealed the glory through Jesus

John 1:14 and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the father, full of grace and truth.

Hebrews 2:9-10 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that he, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. For it was fitting for him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory…

John 17:22, 24 and the glory which you gave me I have given them, that they may be one as we are one. That they may behold my glory which you have given me.

Receiving a New Anointing Part III

2 Samuel 6:1-5

Matthew 9:17 and no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins, would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.

1. Recognize the Anointing

1 King 19:19 Elijah went over to him and threw his cloak across his shoulders and walked away. (NLT)

2. Honor the Anointing

Matthew 10:41-42 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

3. Serve the Anointing

2 Kings 3:11 But Jehoshaphat said, is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him? So one of the servants of the king answered and said, Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.

4. Yearn for the Anointing

1 King 19:20 Elisha left the oxen standing there, ran after Elijah, and said to him, first let me go and kiss my father and mother goodbye, and I will go with you. (NLT)

5. Be Prepared to Pay the Price

Luke 9:62 But Jesus said unto him, no one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

6. Allow the Anointing to be planted in you

Romans 1:11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established

7. Cultivate the Anointing

8. Develop Covenantal Relationships

2 Samuel 6:6,7 When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore, God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God. (NIV)

The Mantle

2 Kings 19:13-19

I. The Mantles of Jesus

Philippians 2:5-7 Christ Jesus…being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation

2. The Mantle of his Humanity—the Anointing

John 3:34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. (NIV)

II. The Two kinds of Mantles

2 Kings 2:9-10 and so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you? Elisha said, please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me. So, he said, you have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.

III. Don’t Touch the Mantle

1 Chronicles 16:22 Do not touch My anointed ones, and do my prophets no harm.

Numbers 12:1 Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? suddenly Miriam became Leprous, as white as snow.

Numbers 12:10 then Aaron turned toward Miriam, and there she was, a leper. So, Aaron said to Moses, Oh my Lord! Please do not lay this sin on us, in which we have done foolishly and in which we have sinned.

1 Samuel 17:39 and David said to Saul, I cannot walk with these pieces of Armor for I have not tested them. So, David took them off.

The Anointing

Three Dimensions of the Supernatural

Revelation 1:5 and has made us kings and priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

2 Types of Anointing

• Personal Anointing

Ephesians 4:7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of gift

• Corporate Anointing

Ephesians 4:13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the statue of the fullness of Christ

The Ingredients of the Anointing

Psalms 89:20 I have found my servant David; with My holy oil, I have anointed him, with whom my hand shall be established; Also, my arm shall strengthen him.

specific instructions on how to prepare the oil of the anointing:

Exodus 30:23-25 then the Lord said to Moses, collect choice spices—121/2 pounds of pure Myrrh, 61/4 pounds of fragrant cinnamon, 61/4 pounds of fragrant calamus, and 121/2 pounds of cassia—as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel. Also get one gallon of olive oil. Like a skilled incense maker, blend these ingredients to make a holy anointing oil.

1. Myrrh

Philippians 3:8, 10 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ; that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of this sufferings, being conformed to his death

2. Cinnamon

Ephesians 4:14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting

3. Cane

Hebrews 13:7 Remember those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would unprofitable for you.

4. Cassia

1 Samuel 16:23 And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would play it with his hand. Then Saul would be refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.

5. Olive Oil

The anointing has 2 important characteristics:

1. it was a tangible substance that could be applied with a cloth or by pouring from a pot.

2. it was transferable from one person to another.

Acts 19:11-12 Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and evil spirits went out of them.

Consequence of rejecting an Anointing

The main enemy of the anointing is familiarity.

• Familiarity cause us to take the man of God lightly or disrespect or can no longer receive from the anointing.

How can we take the anointing lightly?

• Your mind wanders in church

• You don’t take notes now

• Hear a message but never intend to obey it

• Give priority to lesser things

• Busy doing others things and not desirous to receive

• Speaks badly about the man of God

The moment someone speaks badly about the anointing on a person, he schedules the funeral for his own anointing.

• The person who betrays a prophetic mantle will never flow in that prophetic mantle.

How to move by Faith

1. Faith is in the now

Exodus 3:14 I am who I am

2. Faith Originates from God

Mark 11:22 Have faith in God.

In Greek, the verb is passive as to come from the outside

Have God’s faith.

Romans 10:17 so then faith comes by hearing, and by hearing the word of God.

3. Faith Perceives the Unseen

Isaiah 46:9-10 Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from the ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure

4. We all have been given a measure of faith

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

5. Faith loves the impossible

6. The Power of God is Faith

Romans 4:20 [Abraham] He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was [endunamoo] strengthened in faith, giving glory to God.

Romans 4:21 Abraham was fully convinced that what God had promised he was also able to perform.

B. Sarah

Hebrews 11:11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength [dunamis] to conceive seed, and bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged him faithful who had promised

Sarah needed to receive power for her womb to become fruitful.

Genesis 18:12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “after I have grown old, shall I pleasure, my LORD being old also?”

7. Faith Operates beyond Reason

Hebrews 3:12 Beware brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.

Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
