Erik closes out our Always Growing series on Revelation 22:1-5.

Erik looks at Colossians 3:12-17 and the idea of community in our Always Growing series.

Our Always Growing series continues with a sermon from Erik on Colossians 1:9-14.

Erik introduces a short series, Always Growing, with a sermon on Colossians 1:1-8.

“I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see Him with my own eyes —I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!”

— Job 19:25-27

“Jesus came to announce to us that an identity based on success, popularity and power is a false identity- an illusion! Loudly and clearly he says: ‘You are not what the world makes you; but you are children of God.”

— Henri J.M. Nouwen

“Honor can drive moral progress, acting as an engine, fueled by the dialogue between our self-conceptions and the regard of others, that can drive us to take seriously our responsibilities in a world we share.”

— Kwame Appiah, The Honor Code

““Fear not, for you will not be ashamed; be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called.” ”

— Isaiah 54:4-5

“We forget that God’s primary goal ia not changing our situations or relationships so that we can be happy, but changing us through our situations and relationships so that we will be holy.”

— Paul David Tripp
