City Harvest Church, OC Audio Podcast | Derek Dunn

Giving thanks is a commandment, this is the will of God! Being thankful is a posture and releases the power of God in our lives. We enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.

Just as Jesus was the Tree of Life personified we are called to be a Tree of Life for the people we encounter! In order to do so, we must make room for personal growth, for the power of God, and for the people whom God loves!

In this season, God is calling His sons and daughters to change the atmosphere and to bring heaven on earth! Ps. Shelly shared that our source and our words build the atmosphere. We are responsible for our atmosphere! Our words are powerful and if we chose to complain, it will tear down our atmosphere BUT our thanksgiving evicts complaints and restores faith to the atmosphere. Let us put off complaining and pick up the powerful weapon of thanksgiving!

The Kingdom of God is designed for you to give up control and yield your life to the Lord! Our destiny as believers is not only to achieve our calling, but to be transformed into the image and likeness of God! Church, let us not allow the enemy to keep us away from our destiny but in surrender, become the representation of God on this Earth.

What a great series it’s been as we looked at what the Bible has to say regarding the relationship between our Government and the Church! All throughout history we can see that we must pay for our Government, pray for it, participate in it, praise it, and persuade it!

We've learned that we are called to be conversionists; the question now becomes - How do we transform our society and bring conversion? We must pray, we must vote, and we must stand! In doing so, we will begin to see that transformation take place and God's Kingdom established here on Earth!

We started a new series titled, Church and State! The idea regarding the separation of Church and State does not mean that the Church should not be involved in the affairs of the Government, but rather, that the Government must stay out of the affairs of the Church! In the times we are living in, especially as a Nation, it is important that we continually look towards the Word of God, to know and understand the function of the Church and the Government together.

We've concluded our series on the 7 Letters written to the 7 Churches! The last church we looked at was the Church of Laodecia - The Lukewarm Church. We must not be like the Laodecians who were neither hot nor cold; we must be fully surrendered to God whole heartedly!

In this message we focused on the Church at Philadelphia - city of brotherly love. This church was faithful, small, of good reputation, and had great opportunity to minister! Like this church, Christ also gives us an opportunity to share our faith. In order for us to take advantage of the open door of ministry opportunities before us, we must operate in God’s strength, keep His word, and not deny His name. Church, let’s be faithful in introducing people to Jesus Christ!
