It's hot and dry outside, and we’re in the peak of fire season. Fire danger is extreme. Watch this video that has tips from Bend Fire and Rescue on ways to protect yourself and your property.

The City of Bend has partnered with Cascades East Transit, Bend Park & Recreation District and Visit Bend to bring expanded summer shuttle service to help river floaters and shoppers get around Bend during the busy Summer months.

The City of Bend has taken a multi-faceted approach to increase affordable housing options in Bend. Our Affordable Housing Program has been touted as an industry leader, and our relationships and support for partner agencies have shown to be crucial in making a difference.

When demands for service outpace growth in revenues, our public safety departments take an innovative approach to providing cost-effective public safety services. Here are some examples of the creative programs they’ve developed.

The Bend City Council prioritized improving transportation so people can get around efficiently, safely and reliably and over the past year, the Streets Department has made notable improvements, always striving to be accountable to the community we serve.

A robust community engagement process helped the City successfully complete a community-supported growth plan that sets us on a path for a vibrant, healthy and more affordable future.

Beginning the first week of April, the 14th street reconstruction project from the Simpson roundabout to Albany Street will begin. The planned improvements will increase safety, mobility and accessibility. Construction closures and detours will be in effect until completion at the end of June.

Bend Fire continually adapts its training to best serve our unique community. This year’s new training focus will be fighting fires on upper floors of taller buildings.

The City has finished the Southeast Interceptor, also known as the 27th Street Sewer Line. This is 8 miles of gravity fed sewer pipe that's been in the making for more than 20 years!
