  • You Reap What You Sow with Pastor Tom Parrish

There is a spiritual principle that tells us that we will reap what we sow. If we build our lives on the wrong things, we will end up with a life that is off course and away from God. Reaping what we sow is a principle that Pastor Tom Parrish, a prolific writer and teacher of God's Word, shares with us in this episode. This principle is applied to the church and the ramifications are simple. If we don’t sow spiritual seed into the lives who attend our churches, we then can’t expect a healthy spiritual congregation. Visit Tom Parrish

  • Next Generation Preachers with Kenneth Granados

What will the preachers be like in the next generation? Will they uphold the principles of faith of the previous generations? Have we mentored our youth in our congregations to reflect the Gospel? Have we developed the kind of disciples that will change the world for God? Well, I decided to ask a young man whose career path is to be a pastor in the near future. Kenneth Granados will soon graduate from the Christian University he has been attending with his goal of preparing for the ministry. In this episode, I talk with Kenneth about his generation, and his plans for future ministry.

  • Mental Health with Dan Munson

We have become a medicated county and mental illness is a major problem for many. In this episode, Dan Munson, a pastor and counsellor with over 30 years experience in the mental health field, helps us understand what mental illness is and what mental health is. He explains that mental health is the holistic aspect of body, mind, and spirit all working together in balance. Dan helps us understand how Christ fits into our mental health, and how we can live life fully balanced in body, mind, and spirit.

The Crossroads Chapel, also known as Chapel at the Fair, has been sharing the Gospel at the Minnesota State Fair for more than sixty years. It is a welcoming place where millions of fairgoers enjoy live performances by Christian musicians, and buy fine religious-inspired books and merchandise at their Bookstore and Gift Shop. Besides worship services and entertainment, the Chapel at the Fair offers drop-in prayer and free Bibles. The Prayer Station ministers to the prayer needs of anybody who asks for prayer, and they are offered love, hope, peace, and a Word of Life from the Lord God Almighty. Now, the Crossroads Chapel is permanently extending the twelve days they usually spend at the Fair to do ministry all year around. Visit the Crossroads Chapel

  • Hippies and Jesus with Steven Uggen

When I became a Christian back in the early 1970’s there was a movement known as the Jesus People Revival, and these were primarily people coming out from the hippie movement of that era. Churches were not ready for the long hair and barefoot new converts coming to Christ. In time, churches either adapted to these new hippie believers or new churches sprang up to accommodate them. Today, we do better at accepting people into our churches, but I’m not sure we are challenging them to be the kind of followers Jesus is looking for in order to fulfill the Great Commission. In this episode, Larry talks with Steven Uggen, a man whose ministry is trying to get the church to realize that it may be falling short in making disciples.

  • Red Letter Christians with Chris Heeb

There have been many movements in the church since I started my career in ministry. We’ve had the Prosperity Movement, the Jabez Prayer Movement, the Dominion Movement, the Seeker Sensitive Movement and on and on. Now, we have the Red Letter Christian Movement. This separates the Words of Jesus from the rest of Scripture and prioritizes them as more important than the rest of the Bible. Of course, we all know the Bible is the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation, so this movement seems out of step with the whole revelation of God found in the Scriptures. Join Larry and Chris Heeb as they unpack this Red Letter Christian Movement. Visit Chris Heeb Ministry

  • How to Discipline with Wisdom? with Chad Hayenga

No matter which parenting style your parents used, you undoubtedly have an immediate mental image when you hear the word “discipline.” Today’s guest is a mentor who coached us through several difficult “discipline” scenarios, and he has become a dear friend. His name is Chad Hayenga, and he is a Parent Coach extraordinaire! He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Life Coach, and Parent Coach at Connected Families. He loves to help parents have “Ah-ha!” moments. If the thought of 30-somethings pretending to be children fighting over markers causes you to feel fight-or-flight chemicals coursing through your body, this is the episode for you! Chad walks us through the Connected Families framework to communicate four key messages to our children.

Alan and Corrie love to help parents gain confidence in navigating the many challenges of parenting. Our greatest desire as parents is to connect with our children’s hearts and share God’s love and mercy with them. When we started parenting, we thought our discipline methods were achieving this goal, but we discovered our approach was actually driving our children further from us and their hearts further from God. We were frustrated, feeling hopeless, and lacking joy in parenting. In desperation, we signed up for parent coaching with a ministry called Connected Families. It brought renewed connection into our parenting and gave us a biblical framework to model God’s grace and truth. Our passion is to help other families experience that same change and restored joy in parenting using the Connected Families framework. We work together with you to make a practical plan to handle your specific parenting challenges in a way that reflects God’s love for you and your children. Visit Building Wise Families

  • The Tension of the Gospel with Larry Kutzler

The Gospel message is easy to accept, and the benefits are eternal. Yet the Gospel has an intensity to it that requires a heart that is prone to discipleship. Discipleship is a lifestyle that focuses on following the dictates of Scripture. We love, we forgive, we worship God. We give Him first place in all things, and that requires we make the Word of God a priority in our lives. Listen in to this episode, as Larry gives a commentary on the tension that is part of the Gospel message.

  • Inspiring Your World ~Self Awareness

Self-awareness is critical, for not only reaching our highest potential but also for the way we connect with others. When we see ourselves clearly, we are more confident and more creative. We make sounder decisions, build stronger relationships, and communicate more effectively. Though most people believe they are self-aware, self-awareness is a truly rare quality. We see so many who are unteachable, who believe their understanding is the only understanding that matters.Leaders have to be teachable. How can we be a teachable leader but still be a leader? We need others and we need God. We not need to be afraid to reveal our true self. Ask yourself if you are humble … your humbleness will draw others to you.

Shawn Morrison is a pastor, and the Founder and Executive Director of Good in the ‘Hood. Founded in 2003, Good in the Hood is dedicated to changing lives together with simple acts of kindness. Shawn is more than just a Leader. He is a Thought Provider for Leaders who want to go beyond ‘just doing things.’ Shawn has incredible insights into the art of building a strong spiritual life and developing upright Leadership traits.

The story of Jonah is a story of redemption, where God interrupted him in mid-stream of his rebellion and redirected his life to preach redemption to Nineveh.
